We are planning our first trip to Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, and Arches. We are looping to/from Vegas and have 1 night at/near each park. We are going next month, the week of Thanksgiving. I know it's not enough time but it's all we have. I also want to go to the Hoover Dam on our way from Vegas to Grand Canyon and Horseshoe Bend on the way to Arches. We would like to do some hiking and one horseback or donkey ride. I will take notes from your video but if you have any advice, tips or suggestions, I would love them. What park do you recommend taking a horseback/donkey ride? I see sunset is at 5 pm, I'm thinking of doing the long drives at night (from Horseshoe Bend to Arches and Arches to Bryce). Is that a good plan or will we miss a lot of great sights we would see in the day light?
@GoTravelOnTheCheap26 күн бұрын
Thank you so much for watching our lengthy, informative video! Sounds like a pretty good trip plan, even if you only get one day at each park. We highly recommend you do not drive after sunset (which could be earlier than 5pm because of mountains) or before dawn. These roads go through areas with a whole lot of wildlife, and they come out mostly during that time frame. It can be very dangerous and there is limited cell service on some of these roads. As far as horse/donkey rides, we definitely suggest Bryce Canyon. April has done it there and absolutely loved it. From what we can tell when we entered your planned parks/stops, it seems as though you will be too limited on time in 7 days. We would advise that you consider which places are your top priorities...Arches appears to be quite out of the way, but if it is a priority, then you can eliminate something else to have it make more sense. Please feel free to ask us any more questions! :-)

Hello and good day to you. I have a question: if dogs are not allowed within the National Parks yet people bring them along, what happens when these folks go hiking? Leaving your dog in a car is a very bad and dangerous idea. Too many poor dogs as well as infants have been left in cars and the temperature within becomes extremely hot in a very short time. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE PETS OR CHILDREN IN YOUR CAR. This can prove to be fatal! Does the Park Service provide any kind of alternative so that these loving animals can be left in someone's good care? If not, then please don't take your pet(s) with you when you intend to be out in the parks hiking. Thank you!
@GoTravelOnTheCheap5 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching our old video and commenting! We value your support & input. Yes definitely, pets and/or children should NEVER be left in a car. There are some pet boarding places in the area. Or find another safe place for them when going to hike!
