You're at Ohiwa mate. Learnt to dive there back in the 70's. Was out there 3 years ago on a charter to the mussel farms. You got some good fish there.

Good Video. I used to work there, lived in the village and fished downstream from there, caught four one afternoon. You should see the trout at night gorging themselves on the rafts of sedges that end up on the water below the powerhouse attracted by the lights. And when the machines are on the right load, about low 20s of megawatts, the trout play in the tail race where the water comes out of the draught tubes.

You could try Lake okataina, ruato bay, the pipe, hinehopu ( the entire eastern end of the lake) or lake rotoma, again the eastern end, might see you out there
