For me it took a week and a half to get a response. If you had used a reference it would have put you closer to the top of the waiting list. It all depends on how many applications are waiting at the DC you applied for

I drove for Walmart for a couple years a few years back. Wouldn’t go back. Money sucks and they micromanage too much. It’s a decent gig when you’re starting out. I’m doing open deck trailers and driving classic trucks now. Much better.

I'm all for change. But for the better. "NOT" the worse. These drivers today don't love or respect the trucking industry. I drive trucks cause I love truck driving. I love it, love it, love it. I hate what it's become. For most drivers today, JUST A JOB!

@@MrPassionsense they pay well but the hiring standard has gone to hell. When I entered the industry in 1998 WM didn’t advertise. They didn’t recruit. They didn’t disclose pay details. If you didn’t have a minimum million miles you need not even waste time applying. And that didn’t even guarantee an interview let alone a job offer. Now they have onboarding and all kinds of BS.

I have an uncle who have retired from trucking because he don’t want to drive an Automatic transmission.. 😂😂.. Dude rather struggle working as a cash register attendant than drive an automatic.. I Drive for them we do have some local drivers in certain areas but as for as otr we kinda stay in a region me I I run about 4 states I stay out 5 days an go home for a full 2 dayz an yes we get paid bi-weekly

So you work at a grocery DC only correct? How do you like it? I plan to apply to a grocery DC that’s 15-20 mins from me as well. I’ve heard it usually less driving miles and more activity overall like you were saying at the beginning. Would you say you make more or less at a grocery DC then a GM?

According to a message we received about a week ago after your 1st you can set your ETD earlier than your initial gate time, for example my gate time on FLW is 01:00 am so after that day I’ve been setting it for anywhere between 21:00-23:00 depending on when I get back
