Here to break the 3+ year comment hiatus. Favorite part of the movie.

Seeing one of the Twin Towers at the beginning adds to its overall bittersweet nature. I find myself, as a lifelong Canadian, wishing I could've seen some of NYC in the '70s, including the artsy SoHo weirdness and the grindhouse scene in Times Square. It's all gone now.

@Dreaded88 It is him. He's a director and producer now.

Today it's a bit cliched, but back in '74 doing this sort of "man on the street" sketch was unheard of. Truly ahead of its time.

Finally, I think I identified the voice singing this... It sounds like Richard "The Belz" Belzer!! He's in the bit called "The Dealers'. (AND... We share the same birthday too, but not the same year. lol)

Amazing how some people think this is awful. I think it's great! 😁

@Skulldini He directed a lousy Chevy Chase movie "Modern Problems", and I saw his name in the credits for (I think) "TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes". Sad.

"shit, we still have a spare can of film, oh well let's get this guy into a pink suit to dick around in public hassling people and we'll stick it at the end of this otherwise brilliant film" such was the spirit of the 70s

@spiderkiss Really? Because I always see his credits as the Lead Engineer for the Oscar's show. Maybe he still works as tech crew, and owns the shop as full time business?

Ah... 6th, and Park Ave North in the 70's... It really was like that, stupid people acting like fools in the streets I mean! I remember some dumbass in a pinksuit came up to my mother singing like this, and she slapped him in the face!

We know what both Chevy Chase and Richard Belzer went on to after this movie,.. but what els has this Ken Shapiro guy done since ? He was evidently quite a tallent.

It's been rumored he was blackballed out of Hollywood after this came out, for reasons unknown.

This is from Groove Tube, Ken Schapiro et al. His comedy troop did "Channel One" spoofs of TV broadcasting years ago, some of which were collected in the for sale Groove Tube. Check out other crazy skits by these guys -- still hilarious!

Watched this again today, and laughed out loud. Never gets stale! And we all need some levity in today's dark times!
