Yyyeeeeaaaahhh its definitely the all but unstoppable 4.3 fault and not user error.... Oh sorry, TWO 4.3s. . . Yea, i dont think ur gonna make anything last there bud, gl

Go take a look anywhere online or ask people who’ve been working on vehicles for quite a bit of time. 4.3 vortec rod knock is a fairly common thing. I’ve talked to people who’ve been turning wrenches longer than I’ve been alive and they all have said they’ve seen it plenty of times.

So you're telling me that the same two cylinders failing every time has nothing to do with the engine?
@davidroberts22714 күн бұрын
I can see why the other motors failed on you
@rydirp4 күн бұрын
The motors didn’t fail because of my somewhat questionable choices, they failed due to a design flaw.

I had a 2000 SL2 and it was a fantastic car, especially after getting some quality sport tires. I seriously regret trading it in for my first Subaru WRX 20 years ago. Having AWD is nice, but weirdly I still enjoyed the Saturn a lot more as it had more low-end power and felt more nimble.

I sold Saturns for five years at Saturn of Gurnee in Illinois. They were good little cars. I had a sl2 with 180,000 miles and it was more reliable than my new Pontiac Gran Prix at the time. I drove past the abandoned Saturn dealership about 6 months ago. I pulled in and walked around the building a bit. It brought back a lot of good memories but was heartbreaking seeing the building in such disrepair now.

My dad bought his 1999 SL2 brand new from Saturn of Frederick, MD. It has around 106,000 on it and it has fallen apart a bit due to lack of maintenance. Now that I do these repairs, I will get around to bringing it back into good order. Anyway, I found the picture they took of him with his new car surrounded by Saturn employees. I like Saturn cars not only for their simplicity and reliability, but also because of the company that they were. He received letters from Saturn even after we moved to South Dakota, and they weren't spam; just friendly updates about what was going on with the company at the time. It was sad when I got to the latest letters from 2009 and 2010 where they had to break the news that they were going out of business. My dad was actualy considering buying a VUE but unfortunately waited too long. Oh and I forgot to mention in the video that this particular Saturn had about 212,000 on it. I also bought myself a 2000 SL2 a while back that I've been working on for a video. It isn't near ready yet but it's coming along. It has 166,000.
