Daniel Craig (however fine an actor) as William S Burroughs is truly a case of mis-casting (have you ever seen a photo of Burroughs?). And where the script came from I have no idea, as it has only the most tenuous connection to the book. Robert, uk.

What a deluded narcissist. The relationship didn't fail; he sabotaged it. Then he spends his time after in a selfish "Boo hoo, I'm such a tortured soul" dellusion. He needs 8 years of solid therapy. His liver lived him purely and totally and this guy peeed on love.

I got the acting and I got the scenes and I got the script and all the lines......BUT, I never got the purpose and I never got the humanism for each actor. There was nothing. Sometimes a writer or a Director or a painter knows exactly what they are going to express without anyone else knowing.....letting everyone else just guess. One of the worst films I have ever seen. And my partner of 48 years totally agrees.
