In the event that I’m not at home to attend one of these, I always watch this clip and I am filled with an obscene amount of campy giddy joy. This is a major tradition that I always anticipate when I’m in the city. Merry Xmas everybody!

oh spectacular, a visionary interviewer and engrossing guest alike. makes me think about how fun it is to imagine what that whole separate plotline about artists making bloodsong as a show within a show could be like, or really to interpret anything in bloodsong as a more figurative representation of events & think about all the kinds of things that could "really" be happening behind it. fourteen (&/or ten) years later & i'm like holy shit outlaw wanted here

it's always an especial delight seeing what happens in the instrumentals of hard candy christmases, and all the details here are gifts that never stop giving but that one little instant first seeing the sickly british ragamuffin scamper through the frame is so transporting

this song so set up to just go off the walls, i love this take like this showy old timey number to it and then just going for it and it's this number you can never pin down & get a grip on (wordplay unintentional but unrevoked) but get taken on this journey nonetheless through the power of a full tilt Performance. tap break, babey, ft. bingo card for whenever someone says peenie

was wondering, with jeremy morse as a frequent Jeff or Andy('s Song), whether that kind of "who's this cheerful little guy? uh oh is he alright" performance might overlap with "who's this cheerful little guy? oh i mean who's this miserable little guy? uh oh" of kevin, guess this can be taken as an answer haha. that intensity and energy jeremy morse can bring in any tone or context working out just fine here, with all the appropriate containment / quasirestraint for this song, always a tour de force from him

lord every performance of jeff is just prime opportunity for something stunning, never disappoints but what a lovely instance of one this closeup and with such audience response, even as a "this isn't my first jeff rodeo" listener i practically forgot about the pivot the song would take, knowing that that responsiveness from such an engaged audience (always unsurprising with jeremy bringing the energy and engagement he does as well) manifests just as much in that utter silence further along in the song as it did with laughter earlier....that journey from seeming perfectly cheerful, jokey material to the perhaps assumed sole twist of the clear unravelment to coming back together for the ending being the culmination that it is....just superlative

getting all christmas extravaganza'd up (more than usual) this Krampusnacht Eve / leadup to the fourteenth annual show and it's beautiful to see this segment in Conversation with later shows....julia mattison's more Villainous version of this "baby it's cold outside" performance in, for example, the other video on here from the eleventh annual show, which also features her trying to peg That Old Man via eternal icon melvin cooterstein, even the thirteenth annual baby it's cold outside sequence with a jeremy morse role's slapstick orgasmic culmination. i cherish and treasure this show so much lmao truly

always down to go berserk over a jeff performance :) just iconic the way this song has such seeming twists, & being hit with the left hook right hook of the high stakes pivots towards the end & then the Entire number also being recontextualized, oh boy. audience gasps at that "i push into her place" like we love a Live Response & people being so in it for that. as well as the interplays recordings can show, being able to see joe back there with the Hand Up For Pause for "i give a knock" & going :o following along with that immediately subsequent moment, as ever, each performance & all its details as well as as a whole are complete also jeremy going sicko mode (a compliment) basically putting in that little Dying At The Very End acting choice, whew :) going berserk :)

yesss what a treat to have a full number & as close up / high quality like this, with the classic Live Iconis Show bonuses of watching the reactions to the Performance & Choices within from accompaniment haha, plenty of reacting Myself seeing moments & interludes & choices & also the entire song done differently every time. live / musical theatre, anyone heard of this? sure got something special

Beautiful, beautiful work!! I remember when I first heard about the development of The Untitled Unauthorized Hunter S. Thompson Musical back during high school after having listened to Song of the Brown Buffalo for the first time, and my, what a journey it has been! I'm so so thankful to have been fortunate enough to hear about this musical so early on and to be able to stay updated on its progression, from the workshopping, to it hitting the stage at LJP, to now having an official single! Since this song first hitting Spotify, I've been listening to it nonstop and it makes me tear up every single time. Every scene from the show comes flooding back to me with each listen - I simply cannot wait for when the full album becomes a thing! I just have to say, this musical is my Hamilton, but it's managed to reach me on a much deeper, personal, level with the amount of care that was put into ensuring that most marginalized communities were represented in the messaging in this revolutionary show. This was the first time I have personally watched a show where I really felt my intersecting identities be included, so from the bottom of my heart, thank you and everyone involved so so much for making this show a reality <3

Within the context of the show, this song is even more spectacular. Before it, Hunter wants to find a group of people who he can weird out with, and the first act has him discovering this group through a series of exhilarating musical numbers. This song represents the point where Hunter's goal shifts to making the world a better place through his writing. That goal is so well articulated in this song and it is magical. Furthermore, the empowerment one feels at seeing so many important social issues being advocated for is wonderful.
