Well, I have grown up living in deep woods and learned many useful lessons along the way. Your video here is the best example of bed roll , tools, and food use I have seen on the U tools! If you didn't have a frozen steak for later, how would you refill your meat reserve? Please let us know on another video. Possibly, the eyes of your potatoes could be cultivated by you in secret areas. Instead of tossing them, grow the into future food.

I would say there are some BPS knives that compete well for the “best bang for the buck” medium sized knife to have…the dangler sheaths are very comfortable and thick and the knives are tough as nails.

Nice selection. The machete looks like an Ontario (no longer in business, sold out last year to Blue Ridge knives). The Garberg is awesome & hard to beat for the cost. I have a few axe myself but rarely use them. As far as a big knife goes I like the LT Wright Shemanese. Also check out the Becker BK9 & Condor Tool & Knife has several big blades ! Thanks for sharing!

Make yourself a rod carrier from 4" pvc light wall pipe and 2 end caps. Mine fits my rod AND my micro tackle box for sunfish, perch, catfish. Reel goes in the ruck. So much better to carry it in a tube than any other way, never break an eye or a tip again.

Not trying to be a hater, really, but the thumbnail says overnight with a pocket survival kit, but then you bring out a small backpack...I get the camera equipment, but water, food and a bandanna? Kind of deceptive.

Hey im from Norway and in i usually carry the same type off system, in the summer i carry a machete (condor bushcraft parang)/ Belt knife (Mora Woodcarving Basic)/ multitool (swiss army farmer x) and in the winter i might change the machete with an axe and ill throw a Bahco laplander in my pack if i plan to use it. that jeff white forest tool looks like a great tool. i agree with a lot of what you say. i like silky but have broken one so i prefer my bahco saws overall. i too prefer a machete over an axe year round but especially in the summer because im in thick eastern woodlands. my favorite is the cold steel all terrain chopper. i do very much like large knives and often shoulder carry em like you do with your forest tool. i havent tried the forest tool but would like to sometime. my favorite is the esee junglas. it has served me really well and can do about any task in the woods

I find i really like condor terrachete. Its not very expensive but its worth every penny. Im not a ax person my unless i have a woodstove. If im going camping/ hiking i take a 4in fixed blade a short machete and a folding saw. My camping is a mix of light weight backpack gear and bushcraft type gear. Im not sleeping in a wool blanket when i can have a sleeping bag for half the weight and twice the warmth. I really like BPS adventurer, or BPS Aura. I don't like mora companion because the sheath is righthand carry. I made kydex for my Garberg. Also the Garberg needed to be sharped before it was worthwhile

Great vid, Garberg is my choice as well but been using more flat grind style knives lately. White River Ursus 45 in 3V and the White River Ursus Cub in Magnacut. I also use a Silky saw and a Kukri Ktac by Condor for my large knife. For pocket knife I carry a Leatherman Skeletool daily.

I like the Garberg but it has one flaw that drives me nuts. The bevel is to small for the abrupt belly sweep it has. That's why most people have black coating still left on the belly portion. This leads to grinding just the apex which can cause an obtuse convexing or secondary edge. I have found a very lowcost alternative. The Flissa Scandi knife on Amazon in D2 Steel has an excellent scandi edge . Only $19-$25 I modded mine with new handles , they are excellent blade blanks for project knives. I think the G10 version is probably the best choice for those who just want the stock blade . That said if ya got the skills they are awesome blades. Some of the best plunge lines I've seen and the steel is a good heat treat. Anyways I got both on video if ya want to check them out. Nice channel ya got man👍 ill be watching .
