What a beautiful picture. At the time I was working with an Atlanta attorney and we were involved in arranging adoptions for those children from Vietnam.

I just finished reading Julie’s book homework and it just proves how much love and respect she had for Blake and he had for her. They were definitely deeply inlove.

Originally, Blake Edwards cast George Segal in 10. He filmed for a few days before he was fired and Dudley Moore was cast instead. Rumor has it, Blake & Julie did not get along with George. In the end, the right actor got the job!

" Blake began to sink into a deep depression " Being treated by Hollywood that way can do that to a person 🙄
@joyk5554 жыл бұрын
In fact, he said in an interview that he had suffered from depression almost all of his adult life and started going to psychotherapy as a young man. He was also an alcoholic (abstinence), smoked tobacco (a pipe and everything 😏), and morphine, and was well known on the Hollywood party circuit. Apparently, he had left ALL that (and his marriage too) shortly before meeting Andrews. He said he really couldn't have kept himself clean without her help. Of course, it is not surprising that the bad treatment he suffered from the studios made his depression problems worse. In addition to his two emotional crises: the one of middle age and the one of fear of aging (in his own words).

@@joyk555 what I was really hoping for was a biography that talks a lot about his earliest days his childhood and formative years but this doesn't show any of that

kudos to Julie for being a rock solid support even through difficult times...and after reading her second autobiography my love for this woman has turned into deep respect ....there aren't enough words to convey my love for her, and i hope she got all the love that she deserved in her life....she is truly an inspiration.

same apparently Julie and Blake didn’t want them to be shown on screen to much since they were so young.

The Great Race may have been deemed a disappointment at the time, but it was actually in the top highest grossing films of it's year, and even made a good amount of money. It's budget was pretty big though.
