Great song. I love the solo, lyrics, vocals, and arrangement. Hypnotic actually. I especially love it when Ty Tabor sings the lead on vocals.

Never heard the Scorp's version of DITW...wasn't expecting the piano riffs, nice. Perhaps Klaus knew he couldn't match Steve Walsh regarding a falsetto? He was good, not great. The weird thing about DITW: Kerry Livgren didn't think the song was going to be a hit, and started as a finger picking exercise...see Kerry's autobiography " Seeds Of Change " and the Kansas documentary " Miracles Out Of Nowhere " for more details Another Kansas cover that's pretty good: Anthrax covered " Carry On Wayward Son " RIP Robby Steinhardt 🎻

Maybe nobody asked for it but you may have read my mind. Literally just a few days ago I was thinking of my favorite covers and I was thinking of this one. It didn't make my top 10 but it did pop into my mind as I was thinking of the other songs. Here are my fav covers 1 Hurt - Johnny Cash 2 Sound of Silence - Disturbed 3 Zombie - Bad Wolves 4 Turn the Page - Metallica 5 Sweet Dreams - Marilyn Manson 6 Sober (acoustic) - Staind 7 Another Brick in the Wall - Korn 8 Live and Let Die - GNR 9 Paint it Black - Tea Party 10 Behind Blue Eyes - Limp Bizkit

Thank you for spotlighing the memory of my uncle. He was an incredible drummer. Uncle, began his musical journey in my grandfather's swing band at such an early age. Therefore, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. He will forever live in our hearts & the music continues to rock within our souls. R.I.P.

Here are a couple more facts. There was a second ship that came to the rescue. She was a Finnish cargo ship called Finnpulp. She had been sailing about 8 miles ahead when a crewmember, who was monitoring the radar, noticed that the Yarmouth Castle had stopped. He looked back, saw the flames, and alerted his captain. The Finnpulp was the one who alerted the Coast Guard Guard in Miami about the situation. It was also Finnpulp who happened to come across the lifeboat that the Yarmouth Castle's captain was in. From what I have heard/read, the Finnpulp's crew made it very clear they were angry at him

You know who the biggest haters were? Rolling Stone. They have Perry as something like #72 on their list of the greatest singers. To further show their prejudices, they have Karen Carpenter at I think it was #84. So yes, you can refuse to acknowledge that someone can sing just because you hate their music.

Saw them live in the mid 1990s. They toured with a horn section, at times, they sounded a bit like Chicago. Rick Davies stayed on the grand piano, Mark Hart took the organ/synths/Roger Hodgson's vocal parts. John Helliwell occasionally played an electric piano(riffs/fills) in addition to his usual duties on sax/woodwinds. The highlights were Cannonball, Another Man's Woman, Rudy. Crime Of The Century closing the show in spectacular fashion. Always thought the synth solo completed the song(the MTV video/single cut it off). Rick Davies found a groove and rode it/built around it

Yeah, I hate when songs get shortened for video, and commercial radio purposes. It always takes away something that makes the song more interesting, to me.

Prayers for the LA area I've always liked Chrissie Hynde's singing voice-and she can bend her voice adeptly to convey various emotions, not every singer is capable of doing that Like our host, haven't heard this in decades. The Pretenders still sound fresh

I’ve got a lot of King’s X videos on my channel, because I am a diehard fan. There are so many little intricate details about their playing styles, and performances, which make them a very special group. That’s a big reason why they have such a loyal following. They are the ultimate “if you know, you know” band.

I agree with you. In my opinion, today’s music is too formulated. It’s two cut and paste, to keep songs within a short time limit. Back in the day, you could write epic tunes, and they were more likely to get played on radio… Then, the whole music industry got commercialized, and true artistry was sacrificed for commerciality.

Great song. I imagine it would be challenging to perform live due to the piano. On another note: The producer of "Ear Candy" - Arnold Lanni - wrote the classic Power Ballad "When I'm With You" when he was a member of the Canadian band Sheriff.
