Thanks for the comment. They will sound simular, HST power cars were built with Paxman Valenta 12RP200L or VP185, and the Class 56s have a Paxman 16RK3CT.

Even though I'm more a 37 fan, in these days of endless ying ying this sound is glorious. If only they could invent smell-o-vision it would be complete. I remember pairs of these on the Rylstone quarry runs. Highly entertaining, if only preserved railways could allow thrash to go on longer. Thrash 👍 , 25mph 👎

37 fan here too, hence the channel name. The Class 25s are my second favourite traction though. It is possible to get some considerable thrash behind these Type 2s at other railways since doing headsout is banned on mainline these days - ELR is uphill 1 in 85 to Heywood is approx 7 mins of solid thrash (see my video behind 25035), and the NYMR Grosmont to Goathland is 1 in 49, around 9 mins (25278). Agree with you about the ying ying sound, cant stand 66s, and have no interest in them. Thanks for the comment.

@@37427 It's funny how sometimes the smaller engines are more fun, 25 better than 33, 37 better than 40, hymek better than western. That said, any heritage over the US imports !

Are you overlaying on top of existing audio to get your reference point so it’s accurate?
@37427
@37427 2 ай бұрын
It's overlaid with the original audio to get the timing right, and then I disable the original audio. You are only hearing Mark's audio until the Microphone comparison at the end in which I switch between the audio tracks

Nice seeing this unit not being quote "thrashed" and being used normally. Sounds pretty good too for such an old diesel.

Didn't feel like the brakes were on, but it was a peculiarity they were able to get much more thrash out of 021 compared to 026 the other end. The gradients on this section arent that steep.
