A pretty old franchise that had a game and a cartoon. The game had little toy monsters folded up and put into a capsule that you could launch by pressing down on one side, causing it to spin around (kind of like a top, but lying sideways instead of standing vertically). Two players could do this in their toy/card battling game, and when the capsules hit each other, the monsters would spring out from their capsules. Interesting idea, if a little gimmicky. It also had an anime-like show on Nicktoons in which the toys would launch real monsters that battled each other. A few teens get their own monsters and use them to fight villains who have their own monsters and try to use them for power. I didn't enjoy how it started, but I hear it improved as it continued (although I think it was removed from the Nicktoons lineup before it finished). All things considered, it wasn't too bad, although it did feel like a 30-minute advertisement. I hear it's now on Hulu. All things considered, given how the franchise was kind of small, pretty gimmicky, and not all that popular, I was really surprised to learn that this song was done by Far East Movement (the group that did Like a G6 and Rocketeer) - this song is on one of the versions of their album Dirty Bass.
