Looks like the rat learned something from its cousin the capybara: Don't act like prey and you won't become prey. The crow is confused about why the rat keeps walking back up to it, instead of running away. If it ran away, the crow would chase, catch and eat it, but it's worried the rat might not be edible because of its confidence that it's not gonna be eaten.
