I think the D-368 is a little better than thsi feature wise, with stereo FM and SD card/ bluetooth functionality along with a better speaker.

I always wanted a watch which also has a humidity sensor along with triple sensor temperature, alti/baro, compass. Would love to see the whole weather prediction for the next few days without the need of internet. But such a watch doesnt exist. Ive known watches with even Geiger counter, but not a simple hygrometer.

Just picked one of these up (from Aliexpress, to the UK)... guessing it's been in storage for ages as the battery arrived very deeply discharged to the point it wasn't really usable. Luckily the batteries are compatible with Fuji NP-60, still widely available.

I have one of those and like it - the case is bullet-proof - but there are alternatives that aren't bad; I got 3 different kits at O'Reilly's, one of which came with some sockets. I can't find any of these anymore, but seem to have 53 piece kit with bits and sockets now for $25 which looks cool.

Great video showing the high quality of Japanese tools. I am yet to find a Japanese tool I didn't like. Also, tools coming out of Taiwan seems to be of decent quality generally. Lots better than China at least. Thanks for sharing your experience!

Hello! All good? Great video! Can you help me by making a video explaining how to put CTCSS on it? I have a VX7R too, but I can't put CTCSS on it! I have a radio with a pre-programmed frequency of 460.225mhz and ctcss/cdcss-023. I read the manual and the CTCSS on the VX7r is only on the RX, the TX is not.

There's about 15 inches of coiled wire in that antenna (I counted coils and such in another video so it's an estimate) and that should be fine for VHF (not perfect but fine). Just like those stubbies that were all the rage for a while.

Small correction, it has a Wires button, not Wires-X. Wires is a system for using DTMF tones to connect to the internet with an analog signal. Wires-X is a digital signal that is sent to the repeater and the updated version.

What antenna is that on your VX-7R? I just purchased one of these radios. It has a tri-band Icom FA-S6270A antenna on it. I can find no reviews on the Icom antenna. But being only 7” long it most likely doesn’t perform as well as yours. Of course, not always the case, but I’d like to experiment.

Shortwave bands, not channels. MW stands for Medium Wave. And the XHData is nice but they are competitors. And that MW spacing on the bandwidth is 9 kHz so it’s kind of off. And it’s DSP and I can hear those stations going by on this one. Fully digital. If you check there’s no variable capacitor. Do a good disassembly and you’ll find out. I have several of these receivers. I go way back with shortwave. Since 1972. Sorry just some things that needed to be clarified. The extra FM band is for Russia. 76 MHz and up is for Japan.

You don't have to spend hours winding the steps at 5kHz or even 25kHz - just press the F/A button on the side to switch between tuning the MHz and then press again to fine tune the kHz after the decimal point. It's quite neat and a great way of minimizing the package by doing away with the keypad.

Those little two dollar Walmart knives are awesome!! I once cleaned 12 hogs with one. I did have to hit the steel quite a bit, but it worked. If you see my knife, it doesn’t even have the same profile. I have sharpened it so many times. for two dollars. It’s not bad. You just have to know what you’re doing with a knife. There are far worse options.

Nice. I like the Bertucci as it is uncluttered, seems robust, and fulfils it's primary and sole task, that of showing clearly the time so that it can be read in a fraction of a second. I hadn't heard of this brand before, apparently it's made in the US so that's a very good price. They're on Amazon here in the UK for £56 which is around 60 USD. My fave field watch is on my wrist right now, it's a Swiss Wenger Avenue Sport watch, the face is similar to the Bertucci with 24 military times marked, it also shows the date (but not the day of the week). It has a brushed stainless case, sapphire coated crystal, and is water resistant to 100m. Movement is Japanese I think but it's Swiss made. It came with a OG silicon strap which I've replaced with a rugged OG NATO. Top watch and I only paid the equivalent of $80 for it on sale. Normally they cost upwards of £100 here.

Simple watches are great. The Bertucci has seen a lot of wrist time with me, but it's really tough for me not to EDC my Marathon - it's just perfect for any occasion when I'm around town or around the house.
