Spectacular! I have several varieties of what my Granny called "winter creeper " on my property. All I have found on KZbin is about how invasive and awful this plant is. I absolutely love it! I'm looking to train some of mine, and wondered what they might look like in the wild. Perfection! Now subscribing!

It’s a weed in Orange County California too! OC is just South of Los Angeles, OC touches LA so it must be a weed there also. 😊

Looks like a native plant that we call Giant leather fern here in Florida USA. Our native Giant leather fern grows in swamps and seasonally inundated spots throughout much of Florida in both freshwater and brackish water, and in both full sun or shade.

This plant is called Chaenomeles japonica or Japanese Flowering Quince. It is not the same as Quince Fruit tree which is Cydonia oblonga. This plant produces small yellow fruits that are hard and sour and can be made into jams. Flowering Quince is an oranmental shrub that flowers early in Spring and then leafs out. Very much like Saucer Magnolia. It is also very easy to Propagate from hardwood. Just cut a piece and stick it in the ground, it will root and grow. Japanese Flowering Quince is very hardy from USDA Zones 4 - 9. I live in Toronto, Canada and just bought a small plant to plant it in my garden. You could also grow it from seeds, but takes a bit longer to fully mature.
