To me, it sounds sadder or at least less balanced/more uncertain! I never thought the original was sad anyway - just contemplative/introverted. Interesting experiment.

It's like the Howells descant to 'All my Hope': deeply impressive, massively uplifting, but your average punter in the pew will be lost as soon as the last verse begins. One for a music festival or a rehearsed Songs of Praise, I'd say!

Hello Peter, at COTE we learn via KZbin and fantastic teaching then all send our individual recordings in which are put together by our wonderful and long suffering sound engineers. It’s amazing!
