Fine video, but there are some inaccuracies: 1:22 Rockstar North was known as DMA Design at the time they started development and didn't become Rockstar North until May 2002, and Rockstar Vienna was known as Neo Software at the time it didn't become Rockstar Vienna until 2003. Rockstar Vienna/Neo Software was only involved in porting Vice City to the Xbox. 2:40 the police car was showed was a glitched out final release police car, the actual beta police car had blue and red stripes on its sides. the final police car design was based on the Dade County police car color scheme used up until the 90s. 3:40 The Colt 1911 that you showed was the one used in the final version of the game as it had been taken from GTA 3, the one your referring to is the "Silenced Colt" (which was actually based on the Wiley pistol which was not silenced but Rockstar isn't the smartest when it comes to guns) and a model exists in the files of the PS2 version I believe. The AK47 you showed was from Liberty City Stories/Vice City stories when the version planned to be used in Vice City was going to be reused from GTA 3. The "MP5 of some description" You mentioned was the MP5K while showing off the MP5 model. Vice City is not the only GTA game to not feature the AK47 as it wasn't featured in the 2D Era games, but it is the most recent one to not feature it. The weapon was replaced by the Ruger (or Kruger following every version of the game after the inital PS2 release) likely due to the fact that the Ruger Rifle was used in the A-Team prominently so it was done as an 80s reference.

Gta 3 was the third game, but I'm a weird way it's almost an entirely different game than its predecessors. You can almost consider it the first game in the series we know today as GTA. My niece saw me playing Vice City and she realized quickly it was "the old GTA". I doubt she'd get the same impression from the first two games. It essentially recreated the franchise and popularized the open world that would become (for better or worse) the main kind of game that AAA developers and publishers would release over 20 years later.
@stezy67 күн бұрын
definitely, gta 3 was the first in the franchise to have 3d gameplay so in some ways it's the first of a new era of gta games at that time. and it 100% set the bar for other game developers even to this day with the innovative pushes they were making i the industry :)

I’m going to start nms in January, and I was wondering if you had any tips and tricks
@stezy68 күн бұрын
well first off, I'm jealous you get to play it for the first time because you're going to love it but as far as general tips and tricks go... it depends on what you want to do in nms. for example, if you want to be as rich as possible and don't care about the consequences, id suggest finding a pirate space station and do some of their quests or even steal from them and sell the goods you get. however if you want to be more reputable for the different races in the game, you can do something equally as efficient but half as brutal by going onto planets and digging up something known as ancient bones which sell for a lot. and MAYBE you don't care about getting rich at all but instead want to just explore, in which case i suggest you do the main story missions until you reach something called the anomaly. i won't spoilt it because it's very cool to unlock organically but there you'll be able to unlock a whole array of missions. the mains tip i got for you is to play how you want to play, there is no right or wrong way to do it... so go out there and find how you want to explore this world at your own pace :)
@AUTO610 күн бұрын
I expect and hope there will be lot of content at launch - the game won't be perfect at start but will be way better than NMS was at launch (Hello Games made theeir lesson). If there will be really diverse world with hundreds procedural biomes and tens of thousands procedural creatures worth to tame (to travel, fight and collecting resources) with different taming mechanics, Light No Fire won't be repetitive and boring game after first 100 hours played. Procedural generation can be good, not bad thing because it's something exciting when you play a multiplayer game with tens of thousands (or more) other people but still you can find place noone was before and tame creatures no other player has. Hope only LNF will be better game to play together with friends than NMS.

Awesome video.... can I give you some advice, and just know ur doing the first thing right... ur talking about things that mean something to you...people feel that and it's important So when ur writing and coming up with these ideas.... if your going to do something short form like this you should focus on ONE thing....if you wanna jump around like this u need to make this a 2hour video...and break down everything!!! (Just so you know what I'm talking about u start by focusing on the music...the video should have only been about that right, when u start talking about 9/11and the actor who plays him it just feels disjointed...it feels like this comment, like u wrote this in 10 mins and just let your free thought fly on the paper which is good but it's much easier to watch when everything comes to a cohesive conclusion) So I'm sure you've heard this but cutting the fat is important....with something so short your economy of words is of the utmost importance. Every single word you say needs to be completely necessary to getting your point across.... no fat... right Ur one good script away from quiting your day job cause the editing and FEELING (which is so importanr) is very well done .... If we were sitting next to each other bouncing ideas and you showed me this, I would make this entire thing about the music and the radio and what u felt right....not why was gta 3 the most important....but why gta 3's music is so important to me Good luck man, keep it up don't stop being creative u got talent Edit: just food for though... doesn't matter how u feel about the man isn't the point...when jordan peterson wrote his first book.... took me x amount of years something like 10 or 12...I'm sure insecurities were a part of this but he literally went word by word and wrote a few sentences as to why that one word was necessary...

@stezy612 күн бұрын
i replied to that at like 4am but I've gone back and read it again, and i fully see what you mean. i think it's because ill research everything about the game and try and summarise everything into a small segment, where as if I cover one thing and am more thorough then it'll be in more detail and more enjoyable to watch. thanks for the help and ill definitely try and do this when talking about vice city :)
@davidisenhower604712 күн бұрын
@stezy6 ofcourse man. I totally understand why. I knew exactly what happened when I watched it. It's something everyone does u get excited do alot of research and a few things really stand out to you as interesting and you try to cram it all in. I don't make video essays but i write everyday just for me as like a therapy thing, I write a poem, a joke, a little story everyday, I've been doing it for 20 years now. I have kids and shit now lol but I wanted to be a poet growing up so I get it.... and hey kudos, for taking criticism well it's a very mature thing and not easy to do, I can't wait to see the vice city video I subbed to watch it :) Edit: and when I say everyday I mean that, it's something Seinfeld said that really hit me as a kid...he calls it not breaking the chain...so he writes everyday ...even if it's just like two sentences it's something...and he's never broken the chain and it really is helpful. It makes talking to the muse easier to do when you talk to her everyday (sorry if that's a bit esoteric, but it really does feel like that state is true)
@stezy612 күн бұрын
@@davidisenhower6047 ahh thanks man I appreciate it. Also with the vice city video I have lots of different things to cover but I’ve tried to make it more structured and made it into more of a time line from when certain things happen in the creation of the game :)
@davidisenhower604712 күн бұрын
@stezy6 nice, and I think if this one wasn't 14 mins, it would have been less jaring... right so top of my head, so don't do this exactly but start with the music, then the people who made the music, and as ur talking about the music start hitting beats of story and after the two musicians that leads to more explanation of the story and the people who acted in that story... and honestly I'd have to think about how to fit 9/11 in there, it's hard to talk about because not only is it horrible and emotionally evocative for people but it isn't talked about ingame so unless there's a story about one of the specific people ur mentioning having a personal connection to it Idk how I would put that in there... honestly gta 3s relationship with the real world would have been an amazing video by itself, because it is really interesting and I bet there's alot more u could find I'm excited to see how you structure the next one and don't be scared to jump around like that just make a real real conscious effort to make it flow smoother

The setting to a game is important and can be the make or break for some people such as yourself but it’s not a reason for a game to flop completely as there are many people that are more looking for the quality of what they’re offering and not get caught up on the fact it isn’t in a preferred setting

@stezy619 күн бұрын
I mean I’d say it’s a fair Praise for free updates which could be dlc content. It shows that they aren’t greedy and with just adding things like fishing, there is more than that. It’s in detail plus even if it seems pointless to one person you have to remember that the game is coming to the end of its life cycle most likely so adding the few things they think would suit nms is fine by me. But I do get your concern, however I have faith that it’ll be a genuinely good game and not one with 15 poi’s.
