I enjoy going to different places to catch trains and most of my videos are in rural areas now. I do catch some trains in Berryville, VA which is a small town in the Shenandoah valley or a few in Manassas, Va which is in a small city in VA. I love having the mountains in the background of my vids but they are still a bit further away and they are not like the big mountains out west at all. It would be nice if I could get some videos with the Rockies in the background. A few of the places I video tape at do have some history behind them, like Manassas, Rectortown, Luray, and in WV., Shepherdstown. Thank you for watching my video, I’m glad you enjoyed it. They are rare to catch some times. I get lucky sometimes with friends that keep an eye on what’s coming in the area. Facebook groups also help and the heritage units app. Now that ATCS is no longer available we still use our scanners which help so much. I’m doing well, thank you ! Made 3 trips down to Florida this past summer and fall. Wish I could have met up with you guys. We were on a strict schedule unfortunately and we were on the west end of the panhandle. Thankfully we were not that close to either hurricane, we got some rain and wind during the first storm the second storm we had sunshine all week. On the way back to Sanford we saw a lot of damage just off the highway with trees uprooted and snapped off and torn apart. Thanks for watching this video of mine, I’m happy you liked it. It was beautiful there. We caught this train while waiting for the steam engine The Lady J, N&W’s 611. We rode 611 our first day then chased it the day after. I was on another bridge which was old and beautiful. This was a great spot. Thank you very much for watching this video, it brought back great memories of this trip for me. That’s so cool ! I married into a railroad family, my husband’s grandfather, father, brother and mother all worked for the railroad. Mostly Southern RR. His brother worked for RF&P. Then his mom remarried to a man and his father and his son worked for Southern. Then the son of her new husband changed over to CSX when it became Norfolk Southern. I think between that family they worked 125 years. And two of the wives worked for Southern RR and CSX. Retirement was great in those families getting 4 pay checks ! Thanks for watching my video.
