Wow, I just did a version of myself playing an extract of the first movement of this concerto for fun!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/f6Wnc2uFj5Jgm5I I don’t have time to totally refine it yet as I have a big performance at the beginning of next month, but at least you’ll get the idea where it’s at so I know what areas I need to work on!!!

I am debating between SK3 and SK6 for use at home. There is obviously a price difference. Do you think it’s worth it to get the SK6? Will I miss out much by just getting the SK3? I can’t make up my mind. Thanks.
@ShahramZadeh Жыл бұрын
It depends on the room you want to use it and of course type of music you play, with a wooden floor and high ceiling I would definitely go with SK6. Budget is very important too. I'm in love with my Sk7, it's very powerful now I hear Beethoven and Rachmaninov :-) to make the story short If this is going to be your life time piano then SK6. Good luck and enjoy your piano, you will love it either way.
ما به این نسل خیلی بدهکاریم. خوشحالم که کار و دوست داشتی

Aww your singing and expressions are priceless, so fun to watch!!! I’m really interested in doing something like this too when I’m less busy-especially when concerto appearances are so much tougher as there’s no guarantee at all whether you’ll ever get an opportunity unless you compete, but to develop the regular sort of experience is really, really hard compared with a chamber ensemble getting together performing around the country etc. Experience with 2nd piano might be the closest to concerto experience but really glad there’s a music minus one path as well and definitely want to explore more of that, it does your tech in which I really love!!!
@rachelstarritt481 Жыл бұрын
Frederick Moyer does a lot of concerto work with sampled instruments as he’s into his computer tech as much as his piano, so I checked out some of his stuff and I’m left with so much inspiration, that there is a way around the experience with orchestral accompaniments. Sometimes a 2nd piano gives you so much more limitation for expression and depending on the piece of music sounds nothing like the sonorities the composer was after in the orchestration, so there’s a lot of interaction and textural details missed out while the pianist is battling with another piano reduction.
@rachelstarritt481 Жыл бұрын
It doesn’t apply so much to the classical repertoire but from the mid 19th century onwards it becomes a problem, no matter how much a pianist tries to eliminate percussive qualities or sound like an orchestra …
@rachelstarritt481 Жыл бұрын
I mean yiu do interact with a pianist like in chamber rep, but translating into the concerto medium is a totally different level as the sense of reaction is much more especially with the other instruments in the orchestration.

Thank you for such an encouraging comment, I'm glad that you liked it. I wanted to record it professionally but unfortunately got involved in a different project. I will do it one day.
@rachelstarritt481 Жыл бұрын
Aww that’s what always happens with musicians, projects always get in the way and they don’t have the time or commitment for a concerto, but it’s definitely rewarding!!! If it wasn’t for the orchestral accompaniments though we would have been completely stuck, the experience is a struggle for budding students or musicians who want this kind of opportunity. I remember when I was invited to record a complete concerto for a sort of audition and my teacher was really surprised they asked me as the deadline was in six weeks but I had a recital and I was playing in a musical production … I felt frustrated when it was just asked at a time when I was busy and I had to turn the invitation down!!!

Beethoven is the best In my opinion there is no other composer more compelling than Beethoven He laid the foundation of music after Mozart. Thank you so much for playing this I hope that you perform this with a live orchestra one day I wish you the very best Thanks a lot.

@@ShahramZadeh Sure, if one has that much cash to burn, but there are finely rebuilt vintage Steinways that would sound just as magnificent for far less

@@ShahramZadeh Lovely playing. 👏 Glad to hear you love your SK7 and I’m not surprised as I have recently had the pleasure of playing the Shigeru range. After years of playing and loving Steinways, I was awestruck with the SKs! In my opinion, it is Steinways which are grossly overpriced.... but with their product placement and aggressive Artist programs to promote the brand name (admittedly successfully) the general consensus is still in their favour. Meanwhie, Kawai has invested in R&D with a no compromise vision to create “the finest piano”. In doing so, they have now managed to use the fruits of superior technology downsteam in their lower GX and GL range which makes them excellent value instruments. As for the SK series, I have no doubt that these magnificently hand crafted beauties are in any way inferior to a Hamburg Steinway. Their warm, full, rich, colouful tone and sound is not only intoxicating but the clarity is awesome. Add to that their consistent buttery smooth action (ABS carbon fibre)...they are amongst the finest instuments at a fraction of the price of its peers... a joy to play and listen to....

@@kimg4589 I do agree with you however, piano or generally an instrument is a creature with soul for the artists not material. Unfortunately some look at it like a car or just a business which is OK as well. thanks for such a nice and emotional warm comment.

Certainly out performs the Yamaha C7 Maybe on a par with the Bosendorfer, which alas I have not played and doubt if I ever will as few Bosendorfers are sold in Australia

@worldlinerai10 жыл бұрын
The C7 or C7X is equivalent to the RX7 or GX7. The SK7 is another step higher. You would have to compare it to the Yamaha CF7 (non-existent) or S700 (very rare and is discontinued).

Touch is unique, no piano built ever on planet can get close to this kind of touch...... Tone is taste some like it some don't, since it was close to Boesendorfer (my favorite) I chose it because touch was better and price-wise was more affordable for me. I love my pinao...
