I'm 32 years old, and I first saw that animation when I was 6. I didn't understand the story well because I was young, but the scene at the end where the boy was sad while looking at the snowman is still vivid in my mind. I watched it again now. When I see that boy sad, I feel sad because it reminds me of myself, who couldn't even be there for my mother's death 10 years ago.

Honestly, why is this so beloved?! My family watched this and we all hated it because of the ending! It's literally the equivalent of the kid getting a puppy, playing with the puppy all special, and then the end has him finding the puppy laying dead in the road.

I remember seeing this on Channel 4 in 1982. I was 5. The music is perfect. However, all the emotions can be felt just by watching it. I know this when I showed it to a friend who was born deaf and she still smiled and wept a little.

I loved this as a kid! It always made me cry. Still does. My birthday is the winter solstice (dec 21st). The magic of snowfall speaks to something deep in my soul. I love every little thing about this season! May your season be filled with light and joy! Happy 2025!

I remember my Grandma showed me this movie 10 years ago, I was 11 at the time in 6th grade. I remember just holding back my tears because of what the music sounded like, but I was in that stage where I was too embarrassed to express myself. I'm 21 now, in my senior year of college and now I understand what this film means and why it made me cry, not what the main song sounded like but what its supposed to get across and now Im no longer embarrassed to let it out whenever I need to.
