Ciao. The engine number is always on the same side (right) and is just above the chassis number, just clean a little higher. And it must be the same as the chassis number, if it is not it means that the engine has been replaced. Greetings from your Italian friend.

Nice work! I suspect the valves may only be touching because they both shouldn't be open at the time. Likely as you said the exhaust got stuck open then it was kicked over, pushing the intake up and it got hung up. Look forward to your progress.

You’re a patient man. I’d be sorely tempted to figure out which valve came down first and tap it. Could one of the return springs failed? I didn’t see any.

Ciao! My name is Matteo and I am Italian, I enjoyed watching your videos on the Galletto, I am happy that there are fans of this model in England too. I bought one identical to yours last year (Galletto 192 year 1958 conservato = preserved) and it also has a particular history. It took me a long time to find one as I wanted and last year I realized my dream. I compliment you on your Italian and your knowledge of the (terrible) Italian bureaucracy, you amazed me! I subscribed to your channel so I will also watch your next videos on the Galletto. I would love to become your friend. Greetings from Italy.

Nice big wheel scooter. Some hen's teeth stuff in the van.

It was a big seller for Guzzi. As you say big wheels, plus reliable and strong 4 stroke motor so fewer owner/rider issues, and scooter-like weather protection. People liked it.

What a great find. Love Moto Guzzi. Always wanted one of those. Found a Ercole and some of the little ones but not many of those in the colonies.

Congratulations ! I have a Stornello 160 which I imported from Italy, suffering from flood damage and it took me a year or two to get it running. Mine is the same colour as yours, has a single seat. It's a nippy bike to ride with an excellent gearchange. Any chance of some more pics of yours ? Cheers,Jon

I nearly bought one when I was 16. The guy wanted £100 for it. I would have bought it if the guy was prepared to buy a new battery for it as it was knackered. He refused so I walked away.

Lovely.... Just lovely. The only bike I still have (stopped riding in '93 when first baby was born) is a 1977 artillery-wheel 350 Sport with a duck's arse saddle and the motor from a 501 Camel. 30mm pumpers and the most open of filters... Quite an open (but stock-looking) exhaust, too. I recall it being quick, but memory plays tricks. I put all the engine covers and rocker covers from the 350 on it to disguise it.... The mechanical (501) rev counter fitted well into the bracket for the electronic (350) one. The kickstart cleared the pegs and the gearchange reverted seamlessly to the right, the proper side. I still have the original 350 motor, too.... But after riding it as a 501 I think that might seem a bit.... vanilla. Anyway, I still have it, garaged for nearly 30 years.... And that little baby who came in '93 is now a keen cyclist and is keen on restoring the Morini to ride..... If that becomes a serious request, I cannot say no. It is too wonderful to hide under a sheet in a garage. Lovely bike on the video. Lovely sound. It takes me back....
