what do you do when you have nothing to first align your finder? Can I use a star?

I appreciate that, i was since 2 weeks trying to figure out what i’ve done wrong because every time i try to align i could never see the star in my eyepiece and after watching this video i went to real all the comments and someone talked about the red dot not being seated correctly and i went to check if mine was and there it was… i seated it wrong and i think tonight i will be able to use my celestron evolution 8. I subscribed because i think you’re a good teacher and i love the way you talk, nice and slow😊 Thank you so much

Is it the up and right for the last movement from the hand controller buttons point of view or the actual movement of the scope?

I tried using SharpCap pro. I did get Saturn centered but didn't use a barlow. I think when I try it again, I will start with the barlow lens in and center the object. Then, remove the eye piece and insert the camera. Do you think that would make it easier? Thank you for the videos. And I did just now download Fire Capture.

I redownloaded N.I.N.A to my new laptop and it's 3.1 version. Your videos are great, but the updated version is different that this one.

My 8SE is ten years old. According to the manual, the handset has a RS232 connection, however looking at the handset it appears to use an RJ11 (telephone) jack. I switched to Macs many years ago and one piece of software that is mentioned many times is 'The Sky Serious' which costs $195.

Mike. I'm new to telescopes of any type. I have found your videos very helpful for a newbie. I purchased a Celestron NexStar SLT130. My problem is finding information regarding hard wiring the scope to my Ipad. I have purchased several different cables trying to make this work. I've noticed in your videos you have everything I'm trying to do. I'm trying to avoid Shy Portal because of the cost. I'm not sure I have the proper software or cables. I'm searching your videos for answers.

Since I'm an Apple guy, I'm guessing that I would need to buy the WIFI adapter and use the app with my iPhone? Is the iPhone app the same thing as the PC version?

My 8se connection shows only USB and Wifi. There is no handcontroller conncetion. What problems? usb cable pboblem?? Thanks,,,,

So I can't see colored images through the eyepiece???? I have to take a picture to see the colors....???

with the newest version of CPWI I cannot connect my laptop. I see no option to use the handheld controller. Only 2 options, USB and Wifi neither of which work? I've been at this for 3 weeks now and it's driving me nuts

Great help. Thanks. Just tried and even though I'm aligning two stars Vega and Arcturus, it say quickly "failed" then says my finder is a problem. After Vega, it slewed almost right on Arcturus so I don't know why I'm getting an error message. Got to figure that one out but your videos are so helpful. Thanks!

Is there a risk to diagonal and eyepiece if SkyPortal drive the ota at the zenith ?

Ok, just talked with Celestron. The new CPWI doesn't use hand controller anymore; it will only say USB or Wifi.

I am not seeing "hand controller" for connecting. Just seeing UBS and wifi?

Can this be done with a full frame camera?
