Part 1 Feature: Such a deep and talented field of Fords! I love racing with these guys and I hate that I missed it this year. Hope to see at some event down the road and have a battle for supremacy of the red #27s 😁. Got a little dizzy around 8:20 😉 but nearly had heart failure at 11:03 - that was close!

Absolutely, look forward to racing with you folks again. I’ve been racing Wayne for a while now so I knew I could trust racing hard and clean with him. Had a blast!

Glad you enjoyed it! Would your team be interested in a sponsorship opportunity? I just purchased this car and am starting my own team this season. We’re looking for partners to help us continue to compete at a high level and win the Mid-Atlantic Championship again. If interested, please provide an email I can send our sponsorship package to or contact me at [email protected].

It is very clear that number five had more speed on a straight line, perhaps due to the calibration...Congratulations to both drivers, they are great drivers.
@zTheBigFishz4 ай бұрын
So was the difference gear ratio or power?
@jakeking394 ай бұрын
It was gear ratio. The Club Ford class requires everyone to run the same Kent Ford 1600 engine platform with strict restrictions on motor specifications. There can be slight power differences depending on engine builders but they are very marginal.
@zTheBigFishz4 ай бұрын
@@jakeking39 The sealed motor karts (RMax) I raced had enough variation in power due to stuff like the correct jetting to make a slight difference.

Here's a tip on your drafting and Slipstreaming." As you car gets closer and closer, start lifting off the throttle and let him tow you. Then, when you are ready to pass, floor the gas and pull out. You will blow right past him.
@yellowboat87735 ай бұрын
The othe cars seem to be faster in a straight line. Even when you had the draft ou werent catching as quick as they do in andtraight line. Did you find this as wel?
@jakeking395 ай бұрын
I didn’t have my gearing right for the long straights. If I had put in a taller 4th gear, I would’ve have pulled on the other cars once I was in the draft.

Lol this is sick right here, an H 4 speed in a tub of speed, damn sign me up 😊

Hi Jake. I have been looking into getting back into racing. I raced Formula Ford in the first two Skip Barber Series in 1976 and 1977. I won the 77 series and Skip gave me three Nationals in a school car in 1978. After that, I had no more money and no people, so I had to walk away. I am thinking about Formula Vee for the cost aspect, but I would much rather get back into some sort of FF series. This is the first I have heard of the Lightning MARRS series. I noticed somewhere that this is a Regional Series in the SCCA. Could you explain that? I will do my own research but any help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks, Jack

Wow!!! What a battke & what great driving!! Awesome! What was the "chopping" motion you did a few times on the straight away?
@jakeking39 Жыл бұрын
Thanks man glad you enjoyed it! The chopping motion was me trying to signal the car behind to bump draft me or stay in line so we don’t lose time to the car ahead. Or it’s the tell the driver ahead that I’m going to stay in line and work with him to gain time on the next guy.
