Guy at the dump asked if I wanted the 90r someone left....the 6y/o grandkid is stoked! The CDI box has the external green wire cut in half...new CDIs have the green looping back into the box...was this a mod or something? ...any thoughts?

Cutting the wire bypassed the rev limiter on that cdi if it’s the one I am thinking of. Need a bit more info to be exact

I wish I could see what was what. I have a scooter with the same harness and I can’t get spark. Except I don’t have that 9 pin I need that for my gauges ect

If you aren’t getting spark with this style harness. A good thing to check is the safety switches like brake and key switches. Then it’s good to check with a known good spark plug, then a known good CDI. If all that is good you should look at your stator. A complete new harness is relatively inexpensive from Amazon and can be returned if needed.

I used the stock mount with one of the engine mounts and used an adapter plate I made out of some flat steel to attach the second one

Curious what the bill was for all that powder coating. I paint cars and figured i would just blast, sand and straighten all my parts and paint everything but i haven't checked powder coating prices yet.

Is an 18 poll better than the other sizes? This is something i will have to watch and read about. No big deal to reply. Rolling wrench always has the best parts. I have about 3k in my ruckus of their parts so far. Still trying to figure out what frame cover he has on a Porsche blue bike.

@@ZCRAIZED1 18 pole is great if you have the OEM ECU, if you converted to CDI with an aftermarket wiring harness you have to make sure the cdi is 18v compatible. The OEM in the GET motor was 18 pole so that makes it easier and you get way more voltage for running accessories and it’s better at charging the battery. The blue gas tank cover he has on the blue bike is something you can pickup on eBay and paint whatever color you want or some folks have them made out of carbon fiber.

@@GrowYourOwnFun Thank you very much for the information. I figured a larger number of polls amounted to more power in one way or another. I was unaware that each poll accounted for a volt. I have looked everywhere for that body piece he has on that blue bike. I have searched with key words, tank cover, frame cover, valance, and anything else I can think of. I found a set at Ali express but it's a 2 piece set and not that great looking of a design and fiberglass. The design he has is great. I'll just keep looking. I appreciate your channel as well. Thanks for all your contributions to education. You all help people a lot, it doesn't go unnoticed.

@@G_Wheezy I have the Dorbyworks Liz Rucks wiring harness on my Honda Ruckus and really like it but it is completely different than the Rolling Wrench wiring harness that uses the factory Ruckus ECU. I didn’t swap out the oil cooler. The new tank added a ton of cooling and extra oil.

Did your motor come with a primer bulb, because mine did, and im not sure how to hook up the fuel lines, because their would be an extra output coming from the primer bulb, any ideas

I just ran the gas line from the petcock down to the engine. The fuel is gravity feeding so should not need a primer. I would need to see a picture to tell you more.

yes and no, I would not buy another one from them for a Ruckus, but probably one for a go cart or other type project. I would either build one or buy one made for a Ruckus. The engine still runs strong after 6k+ miles and have little to no issues with it, doing my oil change every 1k miles and my gear oil every 1500 miles. However performance was a big issue in the beginning and it took lots of tweaking to get it to run 75mph max speed, it runs a solid 65-72 on most roads. Some of the needed modifications: head ported, performance cam, different rear clutch, different final drive gears, lots of time, money$.

I have the same one but it turns on, I just press the speed button and the bike turns off and in reverse too and in neutral, that's not the problem.

On a viper 70. New rebuild, still only getting 90psi on compression. But it at least is now trying to start and blowing blue white smoke out the tail pipe, so that's better than nothing. I noticed that when i check for Spark, it sparks a few times, then stops, so im getting an intermediate spark. Where should i go from here?

Sounds like you have more than one issue. If you only have 90 psi on fresh build, I would check your gaskets and exhaust. The spark issue is probably cdi or stator more than likely stator if it’s intermittent. Definitely check all your wires and make sure you have a good ground connection.

a tight seal and no leaks. The exhaust on a two stroke is part of the compression reading

I didn’t take readings unfortunately with a temperature meter before but it is noticeable how much cooler the engine feels when riding.

We ended up putting a bigger carburetor on it and that fixed most of the issues, it also needed a new case gasket because the case was leaking

Two stroke marine oil is what I like because it doesn’t smoke a ton. But any good 2 stroke oil will work. They sell small bottles or gallon jugs. I use the same mix in my chainsaw and leaf blower

Basically I took a splice off the black wire from the headlights which is always hot when the key is on, I tied that to the white LED lights and then wired the turn signal light to the yellow LED, and ground to ground.
