I'm wandering about the height of the light also
@AtHomeWithDia4 күн бұрын
Normally it depends on the fixture's overhang/light arch. You can go as low as 1/2 - 1 inch above the top of your artwork but I would say no more than 4-5 inches from the top. Mine are 4 inches.
@lisab19044 күн бұрын
I purchased the art light that you show in this video. I love it! Thank you! Is there a rule-of-thumb as to how many inches above the artwork that it is to be hung?

That's great! Normally it depend on the fixture's overhang/light arch. You can go as low as 1/2 - 1 inch above the top of your artwork but I would say no more than 4-5 inches from the top. Mine are 4 inches. An added bonus to these rechargeable lights is that they can serve as emergency lighting if your power goes out. So make sure you keep them charged, and store remotes somewhere so it's easy to find in the dark.

Happy New Year. Thank you for another video on how to put away Christmas items. sometimes it can get overwhelming, but you made it look so easy. I'm sorry to hear you're filling under the weather. I hope you feel better, by the way, I like your area rug under your kitchen table. Where did you get it from?🎉❤
@AtHomeWithDia4 күн бұрын
Happy New Year to you too! I'm slowly feeling better. The rug is all wool and was purchased about 4-5 years ago. If I recall it was either from Boutique Rugs or Rugs USA - unfortunately I couldn't find the information in my records so I'm not sure which of the two or they name of the rug. 😊.

I put up 6 trees and decorate every room so I pack by room , ornaments by tubs, decor by the area they go in etc.. I layer my picks like you do too. Feel better soon
@AtHomeWithDia5 күн бұрын
That's a lot of trees! That sounds like a very effective system for your needs! 🙂 If however, you are someone who likes to change it up from each year (that would be me) it is easier to pack by category and color so the following year you can do a quick inventory of what you have when getting ready to decorate for the holidays and decide if you need to purchase additional items to create a new holiday scheme or color palette😊

I wrap each ornament in tissue paper before packing away.
@AtHomeWithDia5 күн бұрын
I used to do that a few years ago because we moved around a lot and I didn't want to risk my fragile ornaments getting damaged during shipping from country to country. However, now that we have a more permanent home the ornament storage bins with dividers make it so much easier and faster to pack and decorate the next year. However, there are a few delicate crystal ornaments I still wrap in paper towels before putting them in the ornament storage bins, just to make sure they don't shatter.
@rschindler99655 күн бұрын
I used to pack this way but found that packing a vignette together works better.
@AtHomeWithDia5 күн бұрын
That's a great tip if you find a specific holiday vignettes styling you like to repeat every year. But, for those who want to change it up from year-to-year it is easier to pack by category and color so the following year you can do a quick inventory of what you have when getting ready to decorate for the holidays and decide if you need to purchase extra items to bring a new holiday theme or color palette to life 😊

Another tip I have is that I take photographs as I unpack so I can put things back how they were, it takes a while to figure out how things fit together in a tub so I don’t have to repeat that work if I keep it the same. Then it is just the new items I bought I have to worry about in new tubs.
@AtHomeWithDia5 күн бұрын
That’s an excellent tip, thanks for sharing! If you find a specific way that you like your holiday decor styles each then your method works great. For those who like to change it up from year to year it is easier to pack by category and color so the following year you can do a quick inventory of what you have when getting ready to decorate for the holidays and decide if you need to purchase extra items to bring a new holiday theme or color palette to life 😊

New subscriber and love your channel. I’ve used some of your decorating ideas for this Christmas. I just finished packing away my Christmas decorations and tree and sat down to watch some KZbin and here was your video on just that topic, lol. I don’t have enough containers for some of my things but I do have boxes and try to do as you did in this video and pack like things together and I’m pretty systematic at tackling the deconstruction of my decorating for the holidays. Looking forward to more of your very helpful videos and beautiful ideas for decorating.

@ yes I figured that out years ago that if I pack and label everything it makes it so much easier the following Christmas. I like to change the decor and tree decorations from year to year so it does help having it all organized, so much easier to find what I’m looking for. Enjoying all of your videos and ideas and tips too.

Thank you for this video. I am starting to undecorate for Christmas today. I usually leave the tree until last and pack away the other stuff first. I organize my bins mostly by room so it’s easier to pack away a bin at a time. Did two bins today and will leave the rest until this weekend. I have less decor so only 4 bins total plus the tree and tree ornaments. Works for me 😊

That is a great system for your specific set up and needs! Excellent tip. Everyone tackles this task differently. Some like you do it in stages, room by room which can work very well. Others like me who have open-plan spaces need to get it sorted all at once so the space isn't in disaray for days. 🙂

I liked everything you did, I always do, BUT 😕, I am going to be honest because you asked, the over all picture was like a bowl of porridge with a few raisons on top. It seemed much more winter than spring to me even with just that tiny splash of lemons. Please don't take offence, this is my opinion only, many others will like it very much. 😁
@AtHomeWithDia9 күн бұрын
I appreciate you being honest. Love your analogy of "porridge & raisons" LOL! My personal style is very neutral and I prefer soft muted colors that evoke a sense of tranquility. I do, however, welcome all constructive feedback, so thank you 😊 You never know, Dia may surprise you with some color this coming spring decorate ! 😊

You've got this down pat. All your vignettes were perfect and all the pieces were my taste as well. Many decor video's are buy something and change it but you just used what you bought because you bought with purpose. When I get in a thrift store my mind seizes up and I can't put anything together. I did subscribe and look forward to more ideas.
