The vowel system in written Farsi is seriously messed up, as if it's going through a modern day vowel shift.

I really enjoyed this video. So much detail and what a rich language. I have a dear friend who lives in Iran and she sends me voice messages where she reads a poem in Persian. Sometimes she'll translate and sometime she makes me do it on my own. I wish I could find a good way to translate her VM's.

If u count syllables… the Chinese word for ‘the day after tomorrow’ is only 2 syllables, as are most words in Chinese. And the literal translation is ‘after day’

Yes, the Persian language is very good. And it has a high potential for making money. How ? Propaganda... yes, propaganda for the fascist, anti-woman regime ruling Iran

I find it so interesting that he addresses the lowly furniture mover with "Tashreef". Does he do it in the context of the wage negotiation to say "I am more lowly than this mover" or even "look at me: I give everyone their due and more", as an overture in the negotiation?

I don't think he refers to his father as "-esh" because of his father's condition. There are instances in the film where Termeh calls her father "to" instead of "shoma". I guess it's just because he's close to his father. Many Iranians refer to their father as "to" instead of "shoma"
