Watch the opening exchange when the future bride is given a small bouquet of Foxglove flowers which can and have been used to curtail the mechanisms of cardiopulmonary and cardiorespiratory function to slow breathing and heart rate in humans.... to mimic death. Later on in the video the future bride can be seen "smudging" Cornell's character with the smoke of the Foxglove flowers so that it can be inhaled and she can use the lit end to burn the hangman's noose... freeing the condemned to the waiting cart below the gallows. She then wheels his "body" away... To where they are later married, presumably as payment for her deed. And after the kiss that seals their vows Cornell's character contemplates whether his was a fate worse than the death suffered by his crimey...

​@@mmaye9105 what part of my comment makes me "an asshole"? The producers of the video have gone out of their way to depict a particularly unpleasant looking (and acting) bride character. And to anyone who can hear, read, or knows the lyrics, it is just as OBVIOUS they do NOT explain the storyline of the video in its entirety... Although, the passage stating "Every little feeling tells me this is leading to a heart, in broken little pieces and you know I need this like a hole in the head... " comes closest to alignment with the storyline portrayed in the video... If you're paying attention, anyway. What do you think the storytellers are trying to convey with the bridal bouquet the future bride is being handed in the beginning? Or the fact it is being burned prior to the wedding? Hmmm? And do you not see her burning through the noose with it before Cornell's character is hanged? So maybe you missed the bride-to-be wheeling away the cart with her apparently dead future groom on board? And what about the far away stare in the groom's eyes as he recounts his partner in crime being hanged to death? I know it takes a little imagination... However, since you think it's so far out of line, you must have a better explanation of what's going on than "Read the lyrics"... Right??!
