@@andreasonline9282 hey! Wind was around 12kts, up and down with the wind coming over land but then with 10km fetch. I’m 74kg. I pumped pretty hard to get up on foil. I have the 4.5 with soft handles and RH. I prefer the RH but the soft has some advantages. Soft handles flys softer, takes the sting out of gusts. It’s definitely lighter and you feel that in flagging, pumping, etc. the RH allows steering the wing with one hand. I think flying the Soft requires a bit more skill since you can’t change its flight as well after you drop the rear handle. Packing away is definitely better with the soft handles. Last thought is that the soft handles don’t wear too well. Lots of loose and broken threads on the handles. It’s mostly cosmetic but takes out the bumps in the handles.

I really love all the gear I’m riding now. Armstrong HA 880 and Dart 140 on a PM865. Appletree Appleslice V2 4’9” 60L. And the Flysurfer Tao rigid handles are really awesome. I know you already knew most of that but went for the complete answer incase anybody else was wondering. You know because I have 8 subscribers now… hahaha

1675, I’m 160lbs. Seems like plenty of lift for starting.

@@ChrispyFoiler And what kind of mast do you put and use a red or blue stand for the stabilizer?

@@OrlovAleksandr 220 stab with a red shim, PM 865, 60cm fuse. That is the setup that has worked for me best so far. I have a 72A+ and it was more difficult for me. But you can see the dock is quite high and no room to run so I think the longer mast is a benefit for the start. I made a setup mistake later on and moved the mast from position 6 where it had been working to a 9, about a 3cm difference. It took me 30 or more failed attempts to realize what was wrong. So mast position is very sensitive. Much more so than winging where it seems to work anywhere if you aren’t using straps.

Yeaterday riding there was my first time in actual waves/chop; mann what a learning experience, and a blast when it would occasionally work out!

Unlocking the glide on open water swell is really amazing. Stay as high as you possibly can, turn on every piece of chop, and don’t forget to look behind you where the next wave is forming and ready to push you better than the one you are on. Turn backwards over the one you are on and catch the one behind, amazing feeling and the way to unlock many minute long rides even on the 2-3’ bay days.
