Out of all the AM vids, yours are the best. Id love to have this layout as a template. Its been really frustrating to customize my layout and learn all the different strategies/ get them onto my dashboard. Edit: Played around with it a lot today and just took my time. It truly is an amazing app. What you said at the end is so true. I think this might be the app that saves me and helps with my horrible adhd.

Thank you for your feedback. I encourage you to stick with Marvin and make changes to your setup as needed to improve your workflow. I did another video after this one that outlines my strategy for using it: Recurring tasks > Monthly planning > weekly scheduling using smart lists > and finally daily completion of planned tasks and projects. Let know if you have questions.

@@MacAutomationTips no worries! I think my experience with the app was just a solution in search of a problem, though the poor tutorials didn’t help. I think my time management issues are ones that I can’t automate/app myself out of, but when time/funds allow I’ll reach out. Cheers!

What do you do if you do not wanna move a file, the file is where belongs but you only want to OCR it and leave it in its location. I went to OCR all the PDFs in my iCloud Drive, some which have already been OCRd. I was thinking that I could just tag them and then tell Hazel to ignore any files with the OCR tag but would hazel just keep running in a loop if I did not move the files out of the folder it was monitoring.

Thank you so much for these videos you do on Amazing Marvin! I am a Registered Nurse in Ontario, Canada who went from working on an inpatient unit doing frontline nursing, to now doing Clinical Informatics which is based in the IT department of my hospital and I assist all the hospital staff with our electronic charting system. It is a whole new world (and I’m loving it. Just started a few months ago) and I’ve been struggling to manage my many small tasks throughout the day, and also my big tasks and projects I get assigned. This is my first experience working in an IT type environment where my workflow has to be very reactive. I unfortunately cannot plan out my day very accurately as I have to drop whatever I am doing when an urgent ticket comes in or I get someone reaching out to me with an issue that needs attention immediately. This is a big struggle for me as I also just got diagnosed with ADHD last summer in my mid thirties. I am still in my trial period of Amazing Marvin and I almost turned away from it after being a bit overwhelmed by all of the features included in this task manager. I happened across one of your articles when googling Amazing Marvin and then when I came to KZbin to try and find some help, your channel popped up and I recognized your name from the article I read earlier. Your videos have been helping me a lot and are the reason I stuck with Amazing Marvin. It has really been helping me sort things out and keep track of all my tasks and projects. Please keep making these videos! They are incredibly helpful and I appreciate them so much! My biggest issue I am currently dealing with is that so far I cannot get my work calendar on Amazing Marvin because it is a secure hospital email that my Outlook calendar is based off of…. So I am struggling with that as I wanted all of my tasks and calendar in one place. I can’t even get the one way sync for it because my email is based off the hospital name so if I try searching it under Outlook to add it, it just says it is not a valid outlook email. But so far it is at least a great place to hold all of my tasks I have to complete. Especially because thanks to ADHD, I have a very poor short term memory and if I don’t write down immediately what someone asks of me, I will most likely forget it shortly after. My manager has been amazing and knows I use a task manager and will make sure I have my computer or my phone accessible to write down the task she is asking of me. So thank you again for all the informative videos you make!

copying a repetitive word to the Temp clipboard is pure gold. In the past, I'd create a new text expander entry, but I rarely use that word except for that one document. To say I had a bloated text expander would be an understatement. No more.

Thank you for your videos on Marvin; they really help me see what's possible. I'm nearing the end of a 60-day trial and like it so far but often feel overwhelmed with all of the features. If you haven't already, I'd love to see a kanban setup (I posted a video example in the FB group earlier today).
@MacAutomationTips
@MacAutomationTips 5 ай бұрын
Hi Kitara, thanks for your feedback. I remember reading about the Karan-type setup in Marvin. The developer says it’s a workaround, instead of actual Kaban. Have you checked out the video in the Marvin docs about Kaban setup? If so, let me know if you have a particular question that I could address about it. And yes I it’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all the features, but just keep reading the Marvin docs, watch videos, and reflect what you need for task and project management. It’s well worth the time and effort to learn about how make Marvin work for you. I also provide coaching about using Marvin. I’ll look into the Kaban space approach next week.

Good point, but I have KM macros for trigging TE in ways that I couldn’t do in Raycast, which I also use a lot. Also, I have over 300 TE snippets. I’m not sure how I would manage them in Raycast. But your point is well taken.

I'd like to have two clipboards, sometimes I need to copy an email address AND a business, separately. I'm wondering if I could continue using command c, but set up a KM clipboard with an alternate hotkey for a second copy and paste... thoughts?
@MacAutomationTips

Yes, you can create Named clipboards in KM and assign a shortcut to macro. You copy the selected text and use the shortcut to save the text to the named clipboard. I’ll try to do a video about it. There’s also KM documentation about how to do it.
