Now this is truly wonderful. If you have seen on the original video I made a literary analysis of the mouse eating chocolates in a depressive, metaphorical sense. With chocolate symbolizing emotions and the mouse being trapped in a loop of unhappy existence. This shows development. If you will, take a seat with me and let me tell you how the mouse, and you, can overcome sadness. Our mouse protagonist has obviously recognized he needs help. This explains the somber look in his eyes and the look straight ahead. This has been the hardest step for him and he obviously is scared and unsure. As shown by the intermediate periods of blackness covering the screen. He knows what he must do and that is face the problem head on. He immediately starts to tackle the different chocolates. [His complex emotions. He starts off with eating red. The same feeling of monotony he felt in his old life. This was broken by him taking steps to happiness and changing things. Leaving him in better mind and ready to take on new challenges. He had to do something different or he would surely die. Obviously this isn’t easy as he takes a while to finish each chocolate. Again the periods of black on the screen may represent taking time to work on one’s self, or simply taking a break. The mouse then moves on to blue. General sadness. This may seem like the correct step as the sadness is what makes you feel bad. Thus getting rid of it should lead to happiness. But as we can see this doesn’t work particularly and our mouse must go back again to erase monotony. [Red]. The blue in life isn’t something that can be gotten rid of like an unwanted house cat. There are several things causing blue to exist and those things must be settled before blue can diminish. After our mouse backtracks and deals with past, reoccurring issues, they move on to yellow. Trying to find a sense of happiness in the world. This is crucial to getting out of a depressive rut. You must find something that lifts your spirits and can make your troubles seemingly melt away. Whether this be friends, a hobby, or even a simple piece of chocolate. It is needed to keep your spirits high and overcome hardship. Green is up next covering a large issue. Jealousy and Greed. The mouse knew this would be hard as everyone feels these things. Thus taking time as seen earlier to develop a sense of self and pride. This can counteract jealousy and greed as you learn that you are good enough and you have what you need in life. Finally our mouse is ready again to take on sadness, and this time, they are seemingly successful. The video ends after this. As they have, seemingly, touched on most all aspects of their life leading to fulfillment. Now as I did in my first analysis but I would like to go over other details I neglected to mention. The large microphone most definitely shows reaching people for help, and communicating issues. This could be done with a trusted friend, a therapist, or someone you know well. the important thing is making the jump and seeking out help. Finally as you may have noted pink has been completely brushed over in this comment. As we discussed last time, pink is representative of love. The mouse has made the best choice possible in not perusing love while they are in this weak and sad state. They are working on themselves and shouldn’t be focusing on others, or their approval. Seeing many stories that come from sympathizing with the mouse is quite heartwarming. For me, my experience is waking up at 4am to ride a 2 hour train downtown and then an hour out to campus just eating a fruit while staring out at the skyline of the city in the darkness. It makes you feel like an adult but wow does it instill in you that your life is different and it will never go back to what it was
