I was hoping this was gonna be my answer. But I have an FN SLP that just wont cycle reliably any 2 3/4 shells never has. I did what your buddy did and started throwing parts at it. Even sent the piston out to be sealed and installed the surecycle recoil system. I want to like this shotgun but can’t. But thank you for the video I didn’t know about that buffer.

Been on the fence on choosing one. I’m partial to Beretta because I have the A300. All in all it boiled down to the safety placement and the kick off system. Great videos very helpful with explaining the weapons as a whole! Beretta all the way.
@CannedHeat45Ай бұрын
I had just bought a beretta A400. The quality out the box is appalling. I went with beretta because of the gas system and eas of break down and assembly. Looking at the banelli I have severe buyers remorese. the bolt group is blued and everything appears to be orders of magnitude better quality. Have the A400s started to be manufactured somewhere else? I'm furious at how poorly my weapon looks. The magazine tube was bound shut and rust on the bolt with severe wear on the bolt carrier. Wtf beretta.

That's wild, I've bought 2 a400s and have always felt that it's top notch. Haven't seen a brand new one lately though, so maybe they have changed🤷🏻♂️
@coltonb5091Ай бұрын
I'd send it back to em. My a400 is like 6 years old and still looks great other than the minor finish wear that will happen with heavy use on any dipped gun. Always reliable cycling even after 2+ cases ran though it no cleaning. I'm not sure if they are manufactured elsewhere now but if it looks that rough I'd send it back to them. I have found that regardless of price or maker, you may always have a chance of receiving a lemon. My dad's maxus 2 has always been garbage since the day he bought, including after he sent it back to browning. Now he just shoots a 500 dollar impala plus because he doesn't want to quite literally waste 1800 dollars again. Hope everything works out for you. Qc isn't what it used to be unfortunately.

As for the safety on the m4, try this! With a long straight finger, push in the safety button with the inside of the second joint on your right hand. That works for me, let me know if it works for you?

I'm lucky enough to have a 1301 LTT. It has been just outstanding! My luck holds and I also have an m4 LE model. It also had been even more outstanding! Both are excellent fighting shotguns! I am well and heavily armed with either or both! I do favor the m4 over the 1301 LTT. I subscribed and will look forward to your future content on fighting shotguns. PS: I completely agree, those Hornady shells are really hot!

Not the M400. The M400 is a direct impingement gas operated rifle. It has a low profile, mid-length gas block. The piston operated rifles like the 516 and the MCX do have adjustable gas blocks.

I shoot a 390 and my buddy a sbe. When we trade guns I don't notice the difference in recoil(shoulder pain) with duck loads while hunting, but I DO notice I can get back on target quicker with the Beretta due to less recoil. I say that even though I think the SBE feels better when I shoulder it. A400 xtreme will be my next shotgun.
@DavidBnks024 ай бұрын
I would echo your comment. I have a 390, 300 ultima, and a 400 Xtreme Plus. Gas guns really just have less recoil which equates to getting back on target much faster. Inertia guns have a great reliability factor though. BUT much like AR piston systems vs gas systems the gas systems have improved so much the gap is now near zero. I would also say if you are willing to do the research and go to a 2 3/4 shell in the 1250fps to 1350 fps range you will slay more birds due to even less recoil. My 2 3/4 hand loads worked wonders last season and out of the A400 it almost felt like the gun didn't fire the recoil was so low.
@pjoffrion4 ай бұрын
@@DavidBnks02 I might try some 2 3/4 during teal season.
@DavidBnks024 ай бұрын
@@pjoffrion I would strongly recommend it. There's nearly no pellet increase in a 3" shell over the 2 3/4. So realistically less recoil will kill birds than 15-20 more pellets.

I've owned over 20 Benellis. Not all Benellis shoot higher. It's a problem specific to the SBE3. Also, any Benelli with a 3" chamber instead of the SBE's 3.5" chamber will shoot light loads. I regularly shoot slow 1oz loads in my Benellis with ZERO issues.
