This is by far the best analysis i've seen on that great movie. i've always noticed the couple of seconds that holds after they get out of the room in the hotel but never really been able to understand them. thank you for bringing it up we can talk about this movie for hours great movie and great analysis man.

4:54 Ever since I first saw it on the initial Starz premiere, I assumed that pause was some kind of film glitch. But your explanation makes a lot more sense. It might be the only freeze frame in the movie, and Scorsese always uses those to emphasize what's happening and highlight important events. In this case, the spark of his motivation. Appreciate you loading up all the ' You Animals' videos. Saw them and their prior Komakino identity quite a few times and they had some great songs and a superb live energy. Think the videos are great and thoroughly enjoyed them, it's bought back some good memories. Tunes still stand up now tbh, forgotten some of the more obscure tracks but inspired to go back through them now. Cheers
