@@AVAXII Prime Suker, Perisic, Manduzukic are the best attackers for Croatia. They have been lacking a good striker since Manduzkic retired. Karmaric is good, Petkovic, Livaja are not strong enough to compete with strong teams igor matanovic is suprising

@@ngmanlung1600 Perisic is a winger. Eduardo would be number one if he didn't get hurt. Kramaric is a second striker, Livaja too, and Petkovic doesn't want to play in a box. When everything is considered, only Suker and Mandzukic were world class in biggest games, in biggest moments. Petkovic needs to score 2 or 3 crucial goals in KO phase of tournaments, and I would put him in there with those 2. Goal against Brazil, and creating a sitter for Brozovic by dribbling through 2 Brazilians was huge. So, in my opinion: 1st tier: Suker, Mandzukic, 2nd tier: Vlaovic, Eduardo, Boksic, Prso, Olic, 3rd tier: Petkovic, Kramaric, Kalinic 4th tier: Klasnic, Petric, Jelavic, Budimir...That's about it. Others didn't play memorable roles, didn't play many games, or didn't play at tournaments. Those are the likes of Balaban, Mornar, Krpan, Šokota....

To be honest, Xavi was the main person whom we missed the most. Messi and rakitic was like similar, i mean, both of them were attacking. We needed someone who could just hold the ball and supply, cover up the space etc. And then, there was alves whose departure wouldn’t matter if the current cb were there back then.

This performance is considered legendary in Croatia since the match was played. It is mentioned every time people talk Modric (people that actually watched him play apart from Real and Croatia). I've seen this game numerous times. We used to watch it often when hanging at someone's place. And yes, the comments were pretty much like in this comment section. We would also joke around while drinking and smoking like "where is Xavi going?", "they let him keep the ball, it must be their tactic", "so this is how best midfielders ever dominate?", "what do you think, how much better than Modric is Iniesta?", "what do you think, will he ever be on these guys level?" Only it was 2013-2016.

From 2002-2016, Croatia was probably the unluckiest team behind the Netherlands from 1974-1978. So many good players, most matches played amazingly but fell short of luck.
