The craziest part about this movie was the 100%, pristine camoflauge ability. They weren’t fighting a monster nobody knew anything about, they weren’t fighting an enemy people had previously seen in alike horror movies before. They were fighting an abomination straight out of satans throwaway junk journal and it just so happened to be able to take control of anything it infested and then reveal its wretched true form when provoked in quite possibly the most nightmarish way possible. It had speed, it had morphing ability, it had reflex, it was incredibly hostile. They just… they don’t make movies like this anymore

I saw this movie in the cinema when it came out because there was a 3D movie renaissance going on at the time and I wanted to see what the hype was about - this would be my first 3D movie. To this day, I still don't know what the hype was about because the movie was so gleefully awful.

Way I see this scene is the subtle implication of Dollface being a potential child murderer. We know she’s the most psychopathically deranged unhinged time-bomb of the trio who enjoys her job way too much. So it really wouldn’t be surprising if she was to go overboard just to full-fill her blood-lust, I feel like her wanting one of those leaflets was just her way of emotionally fucking with the Mormons & so she could get a good look at their faces just in case they ended up stumbling on the House and grassed to the Coppers. & because they’ve seen Dollface’s face that gives her all the more reasons to wanna go menacingly hunt and kill them because they can visualise & describe her identity to the Police. Although it’s not going to be an issue because the House is out in the middle of nowhere meaning the boys couldn’t give a location of where the events took place. It’s just a horrific thought honestly. But notice how she was lingering for a few seconds before getting back in the truck? She was definitely imprinting their faces in her mind.

Bernadette's blood curdling scream was something that got seared into my memory as an adolescent when I first watched this film. They easily could've made a big, gory spectacle of Candyman eviscerating Bernadette but, in my opinion, that would've made it much less terrifying. The fact that we only hear her horrifying scream, the gruesome sound of flesh, bone, and sinew being torn apart, and Candyman's grunting as he rips her apart makes it far more frightening. Your mind will always make things much scarier than anything that can be show. This film doesn't get the credit it very much deserves in my opinion. Candyman is easily in my top 10 horror films of all time.
