Hi. I need to contradict you. Thick grease is required for pedals usage. No spin under no load means nothing. What matters is lubrication under full load on parts that need to remain lubed. That's the real purpose of grease. Oil or light grease is ok for fixed parts, not for bearings in general except in case of oil bath.

So if I calculated right Grx 600 crank with R7000 stages left crank weigh only about 20g more than a 810 crankset. Most of the weight saving is in the left crank. So if you're going with left side power meter you can get the cheaper 600.

Hi Christian, what is it that you refer as mushroom effect which you expected to avoid by moving from 28s to 30s? I just started using gravel wheels (24mm internal wheel,hooked) with clincher GP5K 28s measuring 29.8mm wide 25.5mm height…
@ChristianBorrman

mushroom effect is when the tyre extends out wider than the rim, like the top of a mushroom. If you get the right tyre / rim widths you can get them parallel and a smooth(ish) transition from tyre to rim

At the title says, can you get “decent” coffee, not good coffee; so yes, good is probably a step (or two) up from the decent of the title… and kind the point. However what amazed me is that with off-the-shelf supermarket coffee and a supermarket level espresso machine the result was decent, and to be brutally honest way better tha pretty much any chain coffee shop espresso using way better parts and raw materials. It was not astringent, had an ok crema that lasted more than a minute and could go for a bike ride after 3-4 of them and not feel like I had drunk the acid blood of the aliens in the film alien, which all the local coffee shops with the exception of one 20 mins away in the main town, charge good money to serve: Decent!

do you know what fish do in water? There is a lot of hoo haa in wine tasting from spitting to slurping which is clear why you do it if you are being paid to taste or have massive variations in wine to taste but is really not needed if you are drinking riojas, or needed to see that cvne crianza they have sold for a few years in the UK is clarete dross. the cvne crianza they sell in Spain is totally different, no idea why they are doing it.

Built in GPS is no comparison for a dedicated GPS unit
@ChristianBorrman
@ChristianBorrman 11 ай бұрын
it depends what for - for convenience, definately built in is better, but for reliability and accuracy of the actual GPS signal the GLo2 is on another level as a dedicated GPS, with dedicated cpu and memory to just GPS data processing, bigger external antennas dedicated to GPS vs. a phone where many, many functions are prioritized for CPU and memory allocation (like phone, screen, etc) way higher than GPS processing and GPS is essentially just a support function with an antenna where is fits, after first priority of cell antenna followed by wifi antenna... hence the fact that I keep the glo2 in the vehicle for like when I get out of the Channel Tunnel or on the motorway and my phone GPS loses signal, I turn on the GLo2 and it's back. Also in dense urban areas Waze can often no know wheich way its even pointing on a street - turn on the glo and boom... Ultimately the phone GPS is not a dedicated GPS but a support GPS, just like the grill in your microwave isn't a dedicated oven, etc. and the results reflect this: medium.com/@importanttech/we-tested-mobile-gps-gnss-accuracy-and-found-some-surprising-results-b9ec35873e2e

Hey guys, can you advise if it's worth paying extra for a carbon frame? I'm considering 3 bicycles: Merida SILEX 700, Merida SILEX 4000, and Cannondale TOPSTONE 2. The Merida SILEX 4000 has a carbon frame, but the equipment is almost the same as the Cannondale, and the price is significantly higher. On the other hand, the Merida SILEX 700 has better components, but the frame is still steel.
@wizkidcyclist9968
@wizkidcyclist9968 10 ай бұрын
i got the Merida Silex 4000 - its just amazing. I would highly recommend getting the Carbon over Aluminum - it help absorbing a lot of the bumps while riding on gravel roads, the bike feels nimble to control and the cable runs internal all the way to the rear derailleur along the chain stay . My only gripe with it is that it comes with 2x10 setup, and with a 46/30 crank I usually ride on the higher gears ( 8,9,10th gear) and very often spin out. This eventually cos more wear and tear of those rings as compared to the middle rings. I have now upgraded the crank to GRX 810 and planning upgrades to make it a 2x11 setup.

🤣😂 it depends… excess is not always a good thing. A well marbled ribeye has more than enough fat to cook well, crust and stay juicy… and without a tonne of butter / salt and with greens you can eat it every day… if you eat a chef’s steak every day ymmv … at the end of the day a steak swimming in butter is like a heavy night out - best enjoyed in moderation!

I'm sorry mate, but those videos consisting of a guy just talking and doing nothing but unpacking and weighing are completely useless. Quality content = test on the terrain. Explain the technical differences. (and don't tell me "read the characteristics or know what you buy", as all you are showing here is in the characteristics on their website already, and the existence of such a video is literally to inform people about what they're about to buy) Test the material. Offer a prenium expertise. Here, you're just weighing components. The weight is known already, and the slight discrepancies between what they announce & reality are insignificant (sorry guys but the 20g of discrepancy between theoretical weight and actual factory weight over a whole group won't make any difference to your comfort and your performance, it's been tested, you couldn't even feel it). This video was NOT informative at all.
@ChristianBorrman
@ChristianBorrman Жыл бұрын
Thanks for your feedback, however the intro credits clearly say: weights, unboxing & comparison, while showing the boxes on a table, not the outdoors, and nothing in the title either suggests a real world test or anything else you suggest the video should be or could be or wanted it to be. Again, I am sorry the video was not what you wanted, but none of what you mention is not what is written on the tin!
