Hello! I love the tutorial! Although I am on the new staubli robotics suite version 2022.3.0, it was still very helpful. However, when attempting to run my program on the emulator, I encountered an error code which says "VAL3 runtime error. Invalid data for the connected arm. InputOutput~. I believe this may be connected to the fact that when I set the values for jStart, I received an error when trying to set them to "here". The error read: "The 'Here' was not applied because: the value is associated with a robot with wrong kinematic." I've restarted the emulator, program, and even changed some of the values of the jStart manually, but I keep receiving these two errors. If you could please offer some guidance, it will be widely appreciated!

Make sure you picked the right robot type. A SCARA has 4 joints, so a joint-variable for a 6 axis robot won't work. Vise versa. Your error sounds like a hint for that.

Ive translated the message to "Congratulations on the tutorial. Although it is in English, it is worth the effort to understand the MTBF and MTTR maintenance indicator system in FlexSim. My name is Wagner Albano and I am a production engineering monitor at Uninter. Sincerely, Wagner Albano" Firstly thanks. I think if you have the maintenance data and it is identified as a potential issue then yes. If however its so infequent then possible no. Understanding what data is useful and what is just "noise" can be a skill in itself.

Cheers, yes the free trial version has a limit of flowitems of 100. I guess if you are at university, some software providers (the one in UK does this), will give a larger flowitem version for university students for a limited time ie 6 months.

@@engineeringacademy706 Thank's! I'll defenetly show you the end result as soon as the project is finished. Like yourself, I also prefer to watch video tutorials instead of reading the user manuals for hours. And since the 2016 and 2019 versions of SRS are so similar, it's really helping me out a lot. Are you familliar with Grasshopper programing for robots? I use it quite often to program KUKA, ABB, and UR robots. The Grasshopper visual script is more intuitive to comprehend, but has less flexibility than coding directly in VAL3 or KRL.

Hi there, the booklets I wrote and was thinking of releasing via kindle, with a small charge (maybe £3) . They do take some time to write and proof. One issue is that FlexSim updates things and the tutorials can be slightly out of date quickly so to keep them current is a job (having said this the changes should be ok for anyone able to use flexsim a little and work around the differences). Big thanks for your support.

@engineeringacademy706
@engineeringacademy706 3 жыл бұрын
Great question I hope the following explains it a little better Fixed Costs: the cost of buying and owning something, so there is an initial purchase price and a time based ownership cost (eg buying a car and paying for road tax) General info:- Variable costs: costs for processing work, usually a cost per item in terms of materials and consumable items, and the running costs of machinery or manpower It gets more complicated as costs can be based on the types of parts being processed and the states of the machinery. The Financial Analysis Tool lets you assign costs to various equipment and Operators, in various categories of cost and then sums it all up into a total cost for the model over time. You can drill down into the various objects by clicking the expansion symbol. Queues don’t usually have any costs associated with them, however there can be a time-based holding cost per item. (cost to store an object). Revenue tends to accrue when a part exits an area. There isn’t a specific Revenue field however you can add -ve values to represent the difference between what you spend and earn. You can swap around the -ve and +ve values depending on your accounting preferences. Costs can differ based on a Label value; however, you don’t need to use a Label in the tool - this tutorial uses a Label in the Processor to differentiate flow item types, but not in the Sink which just has a revenue per type of item. In the attached model we will add costs to a processor and queue, and a revenue (as a -£100 per item) at the sink. What tends to happen, particularly in small companies, is that they have a lot of potential revenue tied up in stock, but don’t turn this into actual revenue in neat, steady streams if they are fulfilling a large order. So they run out of money as the flow of revenue occurs too late and they run into problems funding the stock holding. Sorry images dont copy/past in these comments:- 10. Set the model run time to run for 480minutes. Now lets investigate the Dashboard. (Go to the general tab and change $ to £). 11. Fixed - This value is added once when the model is reset. This value might represent the initial purchase price of a resource. Our Stores cost £100 and the paint station costs £200 = £300. 12. Amount Per Time - This value is continually added as the model runs. A value of 1.0 would mean at time 50.0 the total time value for the object would be 50.0. Therefore running costs of the paint station (even if nothing is happenings) is set to “Amount Per Time” - £2.00/min the value £960 comes from running the model 480mins (x2 = £960) 13. Now reset the model and instead of pressing play press Step - this moves the model every time a discreet event happens, press Step twice. You should have a box on the processor and the dashboard should show:- 14. The time should be 36.20mins. Fixed costs are £300 and the time value being £2/min = £72.40. But Flowitems Fixed = £10 (Note- this may be 1 for you). If you click on the box and it has a label of 1-3 the Flowitems Fixed = £10 if its 4 then it will be £1. Check out our settings at Paint Station (Amount Per Entry). Press the Step button 2 more times and the box is sent to the sink, where we get Amount Per Entry of £100 but it cost £10 to make so that’s where we get the £90.00 (red because its money in to the company and has reduced the Totals by £90. 15. The Flowitems Time value of £1,255.00 comes from two areas. The Stores and Paint Station - Amount Per Time. Its quite hard to follow this value but if you rest and press Step 5 times the box goes straignt through the Stores (no wait no cost) but then it spends 10mins at the Paint Station ie 10mins and (Amount Per Time - 1-3 =2 and 4 =3), so if it’s a Car Type 1-3 the Value is 2 thus you get a Flotitems Time value of £20, this becomes quite hard to follow after this as items get stuck in Stores and the Amount Per Time from the Stores adds to ths Amount Per Time from the Paint Station. 16. After the 480mins it looks like we are £706.00 in profit after selling 35 cars at £100 I hope this helps
