Bro mad respect for doing this one armed. I've no excuse now. I should be working on my car and doing the trans myself. You've convinced me and your videos are giving me the knowledge I was struggling to find elsewhere. Your a legend man, can't wait to watch the rest of these videos and have you with me pulling mine apart.

I have a 2002 Chevy avalanche and it is holding first gear to at least 3,000 rpm then shifts down shifts no problem is it worth replacing the 1-2 shift solenoid I’m at the understanding that they work or don’t is it possible it’s just sticking the other gears shift fine will even spin the tires still so I don’t think it’s slipping any help or suggestions also watched the 2 other videos on the subject

Why dont the videos play in order??? Instead of part 3 of 3... It goes to another topic part 1 of 3... Making it hard to follow... Being that you hint to some need to know info, stating that you will talk about that in the next video.... I click on the forward/next button... And it goes somewhere other than the next video in the series... Very frustrating... Please fix this!!!

Thank you so much. I have a 2006 trailblazer. This helps me to understand what is happening when I put my gear in Drive. Also, I understand a little better why it runs so smooth going down the highway despite its age and mileage. I do wish they could have come up with a overdrive gear.

My problem is that my car's transmission does not 'engage' when cold. Nothing happens with the shifter in 'drive' until a few minutes have passed, then if 'kicks-in' and the car moves. However, withe the engine/transmission at normal operating temperature the transmission behaves normally.

It's guys like this that we can not afford to loose. I watched another guy here on YT go through a Jeep trans the same way. Absolute master of their craft. Just like any other craft, the masters are the ones to keep the trade going. So thankful for videos as we can use these going forward when the masters leave us. When my 68RFE goes out, I'd luv to have this guy build it with ALL the upgrades and tricks.

B. Dia, El TRS, o MLP.

@SouthpawAutoworks My name: Ernesto. Saludos.

I started my freshly built 5.3 engine with transmission hooked up. I had done nothing to the transmission and realized pan was just about empty. I know I had fluid in the converter but my question is, do you think I damaged the pump? I started like 4 times for less than 20 seconds each time and never took it out of park.

You're an awesome mechanic, we get it. I feel it's a bit hubristic to do the job one handed. However, thank you so much, this is the perfect instructional video. Not for just this particular subject (although, every other video on the matter is butts) but, just in general. Everyone said I need a new transmission, but I knew that wasn't the answer. I can mechanic like a son of a bitch, but transmission stuff makes me a bit nervous. I did some digging around, and low and behold, a leaking seal. This video saved me THOUSANDS of American money units. Thank you dude.

Aod transmission cruising at 75 when it acts like it went into neutral before had no issues no slipping 1st 2nd and 3rd work fine no overdrive and no reverse. Any guess to what's wrong? If you put it in neutral and go into reverse, it clunks into reverse, but doesn't move also makes a whistling sound 1981 lincoln town car

I just bought a TH400 out of a 1984 Chevy Suburban. It has the Integrity Transmission Kooler system Transmission pan with 10 tubes running thru the bottom of the pan. I bought a Regular Filter/Gasket Kit for it and now I am not sure if I should have bought the Filter/Gasket Kit for the Deep Pan (would I get a Longer Pickup tube (or do I need a longer Pickup tube ? ) The TH400 had a regular filter and Pickup tube in it. Good morning, I have a 99 Blazer V6 (I'm from Brazil), and it's showing error P1860. I disassembled the TCC PWM solenoid, did a resistance and operation test with 12V and it's perfect, but the error still persists. But the transmission doesn't go into second gear. Do you have any suggestions as to what it could be?

First of all, thanks for making this channel. It is awesome! I just rebuilt my first 4l60e and I found driving that the trans skips 2nd gear and goes right into 3rd. It also does this when shifting manually as well. After watching your video on the 1-2 shift solenoid something is wrong there. Wondering if you have any other advice? Thanks
