I think that clip is from David Nixon’s Magic Box - used to come on during the summer when Opportunity Knocks was off the air - where I first heard of Anita Harris, in fact - used to like watching him on the telly - but never heard of him until David Nixon’s Magic Box came on the air - that evolved into The David Nixon Show - last thing I remember seeing him in was an edition of Celebrity Squares, recorded before he died, but transmitted posthumously!

@TheSwamper The girl does do the work in this trick but it is Chuck who designed and made the trick. Anyone can do a trick once they know how but to create your own trick is very hard and is what separates the great from the good.

Am I the only one who thinks an illusion that involves a female assistant is more entertaining with an everyday woman dressed in a regular dress, that a scantily-clad dancer that's always gyrating and shaking her booty to the rhythm of loud rock music, and where she and the magician are bantering and explaining instead of dancing around speechless?

The Illusions of Lee Edwards Lee was so smooth as an illusionist. Great timing and slight of hand with great range as a performer, close up to big stage. As an act consisted of many of Dante's actual original tricks, custom Johny Gaughn props to boot.

@Gazza100164 I've been performing this effect in cabaret since 1979, having learnt the finer points of handling directly from Ken, and I have NEVER been 'called on it'.

This is the Italian tribute act. Good, but lacks some of the energy and charm of the original Milo and Roger.

Gysel Tie :) ... If you look closely Debbie sort of gives it away at 8:42 when she's being "cut loose" - left hand lets go of the right hand rope. Still, brilliantly executed ... Violin bit is awesome.

I dunno. Does it seem to anyone else in the first part that the magician just stands and distracts the audience while the girl does all the work?

@JekyllBoote Re "overfed skull"... Here's a quote from The Goon Show: MORIARTY: That flag they're flying! It's the skull and crossbones! NEDDIE: "Wrong! It's a photograph of David Nixon with his arms folded! (From "Tales of Old Dartmoor", 1956)
