Looks like n orange surf candy. Those are always a good choice. Those, clousers, deceivers and gummy minnows. Balsy fishing for albies with a 9wt though. I usually go 10-11wt.

Not much different than a Savage Gear Sand Eel jig bait except without the extra link.... I cast the 2.5 to 3oz. Sand Eel in the surf and the 5.5oz and larger.....I troll ... I buy the diamond jigs in bulk and remove the treble hooks for tube tails... they're all great Striper lures...tried and true ..East or West coast 👍😎🤙

The hogy epoxy jig has been very successful for me when targeting sea bass, bluefish and i think i got a striper on it as well. I hope i get another one in my mystery box

How much hollowcore fits on that reel?? And have you ever had any issues with the amount of line you have. Im very torn between a stella 20k or a penn authority 10500 because of line cap and sont know whether to use straight braid or hollow

Works great in land locked lakes in heat of summer also.. long shallow rocky flats striper move up on them after dark,seems to only last for a few weeks???

Thank you for the instruction. I now understand the sand eel jib more in terms what is supposed to mimic. I looked up sand eel and found they exit here in the Sea of Cortez. I already jig and do well bouncing off the bottom. Now I have some more insight.

Are you tying that directly to your line?. If not, what do you use. I commonly use clips but find I have a hard time attaching them to such a thick eye on the hook.
