New subscriber here! I live in the high desert, and im trying to start A garden on my balcony. I started from seed, but why did I add basil, and peppermint in the same pot🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️😂 Im so happy that I came across your channel! I still have seeds left, to plant them correct way. Yeah, I just threw some seeds in A pot. Off to get bigger pots, and soil.

If you travel alot, you can come and check out our living place where you can farm at your fulliest desire, i have very big place, the soil is very good as well, we did'nt need fertilizer. I am also a small farmer, I love your videos......

I just sowed yellow mustard seeds before watching your video. It was directly on the ground and not organized like yours. Can't wait to see how they grow. Maybe will fertilize in some weeks with coffee grounds.

First year i grew mustard greens it was giant red spicy mustard. I harvested at 28 degrees. I like to sear the most tender parts in a hot skillet. I haven't tried boiling the bigger stalks but i want to.

Now I want some Giant Red Spicy Mustard seeds! lol You are a soldier to harvest at 28 degrees but I'll bet the cold make them extra delicious!

You suggested broadcasting and giving them up. I tried last year putting them in rows but I think I planted them too deep.
@TheMessyHomesteader6 ай бұрын
I had that problem too. I've found that broadcasting (and thinning when they sprout) or planting just 1/2 in deep works well. HTH!

The fish emulsion is NOT 5-11 It is 5-1-1. This means 5% nitrogen, and 1% phosphorus and 1% potassium
@TheMessyHomesteader10 ай бұрын
Yes, you’re right. It is 5-1-1, but many gardeners say 511 courtesy of The New Orleans Gardener channel. It’s a gardener’s slang if you will. But I understand that newbies might not get that so thanks for pointing that out!
