EE tail throws are looking a bit forced and flat. Kinda 1990 surfing but he's very effortless. Better keep on rail and he has a chance. JJF and Jack doesnt shine at all on this wave. If the swell grows JJF might have to use that endsection layback, which I see as overscored again an again - it's not a risky move by anymeans. Italo is on another level and such a contrast with all other guys. So much speed. He an Griffin are ON! Griff seems to be landing everything and might be the perfect balance of progression and flow. Let's see what happens in 30 min heats.

Prediction: Caroline is going to go right, do 3 vertical snaps, tap the end and pump her fist for an 8.5. Paddle out and do it again and win the title. Caity will be left floundering doing cool loose turns and lose the title she’s ground out the year for. Hope I’m wrong, but the final event MUST be a regular event with regular points awarded or the history books will be forever screwed.

There is a NATURAL cadence and chatter pattern to a few (3) surfers sitting in a car, on log or seawall and watching good surfers catch good waves. Same in Raglan, same at Ulus, same at Anchor Point, same at Huntington. Surf commentary is so fucken bad because they have never thought to grow from that. Baseball and Cricket commentary came from many decades of radio (audio only) and, therefore, carried that cadence and pattern on to video. Where the fuck the need to explain a bunch of shit ALL the time over and over came from is a mystery, as the requirement to talk rapidly through every ride, but the need to do so it the face of universal condemnation and ire must be some kind of mental disability.
