Did you change the pumps since then? Just bought a new mobi v15 washer and water pressure is rubbish, can't even get dust off my garage door. On top of that I used 15litres and didn't even finish getting the chain set clean on my bike.

At the very least you could of started at the top and worked down

Washing your car is pointless if you don't dry off the car afterwards. Drying it in the sun will leave water spots and marks and your car won't look as clean. That's why every single car wash product tells you to wash your car in the shade or if that isn't possible then not when it's really hot. Let your car bonnet (hood) cool down before spraying water on it (for all the hoons that thrash their car and the bonnet gets really hot.

Not sure if you are aware of this but "rubbing the sponge over" is in fact rubbing all that dirt and grit into your paintwork and scratching it badly. Saving water is fine but you are damaging your paintwork by using so little water so you may be better leaving it until the ban is off and you can use a hosepipe to wash the dirt off your car first with lots of water.

scrub off the mud on the tyres and lower half of the car first, then drop the wash mit onto gravel, stamp the wash mit to squeeze out the mud then peel the mit off the gravel and press into the top half of the car, pressing the mit as hard as you can.
