Sola scriptura and Sola fide its not biblical 2 Thessalonisien 2:15 come back to the one true church
@bigniftydude8 ай бұрын
Would that be Roman Catholic or Eastern Orthodox?
@kamiingtv8 ай бұрын
@@bigniftydudeCatholic not necessarily the Roman rite there is eastern, Byzantine ect...all recognizing the Pope authority and infallibility concerning Faith and morals. There is a link to all rites. www.churchpop.com/content/images/wordpress/2018/08/rites-2.jpg
@willemjankamerbeek98225 ай бұрын
@@bigniftydude either one of them could be, it judt fastly shift the focus. The catholic church is focussed on being the most universal, powerful church. The orthodox churches main focus is being as incorrupt as possible. I personally chose the Orthodox truth and I feel like that is the one true church. May the Lord be with you all, Amen.

I know this is an old video but I have a question. I was under the assumption that Lent came from the pagan practice of weeping for Tammuz.
@HainzbeansАй бұрын
The Lenten fast has it's origins in the Canons of Nicea (325 AD). Thankfully there are no pagan roots to it!
@stevenlindsey2056Ай бұрын
@@Hainzbeans I disagree concerning pagan roots.
@HainzbeansАй бұрын
@@stevenlindsey2056 Most claims of Christians taking pagan holidays and making them their own are actually incorrect. If you were to look at primary sources you'll see it was the pagans who took the Christian holiday and made it their own or they are purely coincidental, a great example of this would be Christmas and Saturnalia. The Pagan Romans took Christmas and made it into a holiday commemorating their idols, we can read about that in first hand sources like the "Res Gestae" by Ammianus Marcellinu where Emperor Julian complains about people converting away from their pagan deities and start following Christ which he blames on the lack of new activities regarding worship of them. Overall Christianity is not a syncretic religion quite the opposite it looks at different Gods with distrust we can see that in Scripture (for ex. Pslam 115:1-8 ). And even if it were the case that any Christian holiday has pagan roots that doesn't change the fact we don't worship Saturn, Zeus, Baal, Odin or whoever we only worship The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.

This service is hard to follow without the manuscript. What is your purpose for the general public?
@TheLCMS2 жыл бұрын
With the exception of Luther's Te Deum that we use once a week, every service follows an order in our hymnal, the Lutheran Service Book. You can find the page number in the description of the video, and in the first few minutes on-screen of each broadcast. The page number for the hymn is also included.
