Not all all inclusive resorts but many have rates for one person. Just select one person instead of two when making your reservation.

If you love Jamaica and her people : Read up on Tourisum Leakage - Rui is a Spanish owned hotel. The foreign chains are in JA & other developing countries because they can exploit the labor force - Next time you visit- if your heart is not swayed by reading about tourism leakage - as a housekeeper how much she makes a week…ask her how much she pays a day to send her child to school - Ask her how much her route fare transportation costs are each day ? Ask her if she receives a reduced price meal or if her bags are searched every time she exists the property? Ask the desk reception person the same questions - ask the security guard - and then ask them how much it costs them to feed their family and if they go hungry ? The only people getting rich are the foreign owners… Ask the cooks and servers how much of the food they prepare comes from Jamaica - or - is it imported ? Less than 10% os grown in JA…is it okay to exploit human capital just because we can ?is it okay to exploit human capital just because we can and the foreign owned hotel do?Ask yourself Or should we look for ways to enhance or can we do better for our fellow humans and the countries we visit? Yes we can- We can make sure the hotels and properties we stay in are locally owned and the staff be paid a living wage for their effort - YES we can- and - we must do better … The Sandal's china is Jamaican owned - as is the S hotel in MoBay…Treehouse in Negril…and so sis many more - when we know better - we must do better and play our part in global citizenry

Thank you for sharing this information. I will definitely look into Tourism Leakage and educate myself on the matter. The staff there were amazing and customer service top notch. I had open conversation with some of the staff about the culture and talked about how my own family is from the Caribbean. They seemly like there job for the most part. But next time, I will dig deeper and understand the dynamics. I actually kept in contact with some of the staff and am curious to know their thoughts. I do not want to support anything that exploits the people. So thank you for highlighting this.

So if we stop going there as black people, we will be denying the local people work. If we stop going there, only non black peoples will go there and this will become marginalized as a result for black people. Unfortunately, globalization greed has caused this scenario. Only if we petition the governments to make sure wages are brought into line with inflation and defend workers’ rights will we see an end to exploitation. But that’s a job for the local people. The youth want to get rich quick today and get off the island. If as you say what you say is true, I will not be going to this place next April. My family are Jamaican, and I thought that by staying a resort for a few days I would be helping the economy but if what you say is true, my money would be better spent elsewhere on the island… But where? What would you do? Where where would you stay? Thanks for the insight and the lowdown on what this form of globalized exploitation has done for the hotel sector in JA. Ironically, if it was not for foreign investment, JA would be in an even worse off way. I know, I have been travelling there since 2011. And when i go, I always take gifts for the family and leave practically the clothes on my back for people as I know how hard it is backahyard.

Thanks for the review!! I have never been to Jamaica but will definitely look into this one! I stayed at RIU Dunamar in Cancun a year and a half ago, and will say, the customer service there was great!

Thanks for the review. What a beautiful hotel and property. We were in Ocho Rios a week later but did not stay here unfortunately 😢 Maybe next time.

@@shanasmith1169 My stay was Thursday to Sunday and the total cost was $789. They reduce the cost from $1100 when I told them I was traveling solo. If you book online and intend to travel solo, make sure to call and make they them aware😊
