Does it works with heavy material too? My company goods is metals. We are using old traditional store by keep it in wooden case and store on shelves. We're looking for project improvement.
@pietro47182 ай бұрын
unfortunately no, I’m in your exact same situation. This solution only works for small goods, if you are looking for automated solutions for bars stocking I suggest looking for systems involving stacker cranes for containers. They are expensive but pretty efficient

If the robots repeat themselves as much as this guy it still could be a lot more efficient

This is something that should be automated, repetitive tasks, and high speed. People want speedy deliveries, and no mistakes, and companies need to be competitive.

Hello - the FusionPort is a workstation incorporated into an AutoStore system. The price for the entire system (grid, robots, bins, workstations) ranges based multiple factors. For existing AutoStore installations, the integration partner who installed the system can provide a quote to add a FusionPort to the current AutoStore system.

We have customers around the world. We also have a grid at our North American headquarters in New Hampshire housing our spare parts. Visiting a client site is usually part of the process for companies evaluating an investment in AutoStore and warehouse automation.

Very interesting solution! What is the preferred, or optimal, hight of this system?
@AutoStoresystem Жыл бұрын
Depending on the bin size selected (we have 3 bin sizes), the max height is 16 bins for our most common 330mm bin. This is basically 5.4 meters or 17.75 feet. The minimum height is 4 bins high with the 330mm bin. You can find more information at www.autostoresystem.com/system.

If the shelf is full of boxes but I want the bottom box, how can the robot get the bottom box as fast as possible?
@AutoStoresystem Жыл бұрын
Hi Supawit, great question and a commonly asked one. The Robots will dig for the Bin if it is needed. When a Bin is retrieved from the system and delivered to the workstation, a Robot returns the Bin to the top layer of the system. In this way, high movers stay at the top and slow movers or legacy items fall to the bottom. The system is working ahead of the employee and directing Robots to collect needed Bins, so the worker is not aware of the digging happens. Here's another video explaining the science behind the design: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4anmIalm6uSd7s

@jhm717011 ай бұрын
No such possibility for this to impact you. Lowest velocity items naturally fall to the bottom. You will not have to consistently pick bottom layer items, or else they would not be on the bottom layer.

Nice system, however, one might ask though: if everything will be done by robots, whose going to buy the products they need to orderpick? Because today's orderpicker robot is tomorrow's baker robot or pick any other manual labor... This eternal race to "cut costs and service time" will lead to something like today's problem's, where two third of all manufacturing is outsourced to China and as a result, European middle class ceased to exist because of this, to mention only one of the issues. What all those low skill laborers are going to do, who are replaced by these robots? Because they are also part of the market, they also contribute to sales and if they'll also disappear because of the robot workforce, again, who is going to buy all these items these robots need to pick? It almost feels like humans are creating these technologies to destroy themselves on the long run. Bit Skynet-ish, if you like, though in a different kind of way, indeed. I am happy that I'll probably not have to live through these struggles, being in my forties already, though it is concerning, to say the least, if I think about the future of my children. That is, indeed, if Russia and Putin isn't going to destroy the world in the next few months/years in a nuclear war...

Are you integrating with other fully automated designs that take the human completely out of the loop? What about picking and packing right into a ground delivery pod like Starship Technologies? Is that in the making?
@thibaultmol Жыл бұрын
Not by them. They only focus on the storage part. But you can't order an autostore. It's only trough integrator companies, and they add other stuff to this setup

Hello - yes, we have clients who are using robotic picking with an AutoStore system. As Thibault mentions, this isn't a module line we manufacture, but you will see it as part of a complete warehouse operation as is conveyor or boxing/bagging machines.
