Bogie's awesome, but you cannot replace Kate. Greer's interpretation is grating, irritating.

Wow. These radio drama of great films are lovely to listen to. Incredible writing and directing in both mediums . Exquisite acting. Shadow is one of my favorite Hitchcocks; I watch it often. But this treatment is fascinating and very smart. Brilliant opening act- the sense of time ; the sound effects and the suave villain Uncle Charlie - Who could be better at that in voice only than Cary Grant⁉️

Cary Grant and his soon-to-be 3rd wife, Betsy Drake. It was a chance for Cary to express some of his darkness. They are very good together. Betsy wrote Houseboat as a vehicle for them both, but Cary replaced Betsy with his latest fling: Sophia Loren.

Thanks for sharing this. I enjoyed the story. I also liked listening to the ads that were part of the download. Especially the one that advertised the RCA Victor TV. I think if the broadcaster knew the negative impact TV had on Radio, he would have been less interested in promoting it.

Hmm. Imagine the women who lived through it, tolerated it, failed to tolerate it and were punished for that. Forcing inferiority can’t have a good outcome on anyone involved; it inflates the ego of the allegedly strong and undermines the capable . Garbage in, garbage out. Look at me 2 and all these NDA signed by real victims and cunning volunteers. Where’s the good? Sexism continues because of the minds of men, limitations placed on and enforced ( but not always successful) submission by women. As a result you now have five disgruntled and loveless sexes and no guilt complexes at all just rage between the binary sexes - the two who are the source of all human life.

'How did the line: 'where's Joe--the colored man' get changed from 'have you seen Charcoal?'- movie version- Which came 1st? Aside that this is one of my Top 10 favorite films; am more locked into the uneasy sense of the presence of Banquo's Ghost that still so lurks with-in the American Political and Social Fabric: the Radio production more than the censors, may have allowed in the movie---to show the innate 'Prejudices, Myopic viewpoints, and Jingoistic speech' that helped to usher in the Concept and slogan of the 'Ugly American' though dressed-up 'likes they goin' to Sunday Church' with its 'folksy Patriotism' is in fact just the other-face-of-the-Coin of Economic, Social and Political Oppression that these Survivors are supposed to be antithesis. LoL....So what in the 70 plus years, in the World and the U.S. has changed.?
