The chrome side and hood moulding absolutely ruin the looks of what is otherwise a gorgeous automobile.

Great video. My favourite car!!! To this day I've never driven a better car, drove from London to Newcastle in one and have never enjoyed driving so much since. Planted at high speed, mind you mine had dolomite sprint wheels which are wider and had twin weber carbs. Power to weight ratio; hard to beat. So light you could push start her solo no problem..

Had one. It had dual carburetors which were tricky to tune. Can’t beat the sound

Brakes seem spongy and you have the same trouble getting into first gear that I had with my '64. I had to be careful because reverse was to the left of first gear and if you weren't careful, you could go backwards when you wanted to go forward. I can't remember how the brakes were on my Spitty but I don't recall any trouble so they must've been o.k. I don't remember if they were disc but probably drum.

I bought one EXACTLY like this one in Muncie, Indiana when I was 19 years old. Drove her just one month, got my draft notice and had to sell her quickly before reporting for the army. Purchased for $2500 ... sold wholesale for $1750. I've held this against the U. S. Draft board ever since ☹️

Not rostyle wheels, rostyle wheel style stainless steel wheel trims. Same on MK2 Vitesse and 2.5pi. Only 4 stud wheels underneath, which I always thought a bit of a fraud. I had 3 Vitesse', 2 with these trims

Wow I had a 1967 MK2 I had a good time in that car the only thing I didn't like was it had a positive ground does this car have the dual su carburetors?were do you find parts for it?????

Chrome wires on a MK2 GT6? Yikes!!! They're not a bling vehicle. Non chromed business like wires maybe, original rostyle stainless trims definitely, but this was never a car meant for Liberace
@user-fv8rn4gi3x2 ай бұрын
They do look good on it though.
@ceased2care2 ай бұрын
@@user-fv8rn4gi3xtoo flashy for a GT6. They didn't have them from new. If they were non chrome wires, it would work, they'd be more business like. MK2 GT6s would have the stainless steel rostyle trims from new, like the Triumph PI or Vitesse Mk2. They really suit, and are of that time, but these chrome wires draw your attention too much with all the sparkle, and look out of place. I've had many Triumphs, including PI and Vitesse Mk2, and along with the GT6 MK2, and a few early TR6s, the factory rostyle trims in the UK are the classic look for the MK2 GT6, and evoke the atmosphere of that late 60s period in England

Wonky car…. With a ‘57 hood featuring the center ridge, the Drivers dood is way wonky… also missing the side curtain bezels… a very suspicious car… buyer be ware!! All noticed from a vid. After having fully restoring award winning ‘65 ‘59 myself, and family and friends award winning ‘55 ‘60 ‘62’ I bet if I inspected this car I would find lots more wonky stuff.

Beautiful example. The first car that I drove was a '67 MGB in BRG with wire wheels. The only major difference from this one was that it had a wooden steering wheel, which may have been aftermarket. I later owned a '67 Austin 1100 in BRG, similar to the one in the background at 9:28. Interesting little car, but not nearly as gorgeous as the MGB.
@RaggedyAtom4 ай бұрын
The wooden Moto-lita steering wheels were aftermarket. The original ones were always the big (if not oversized) thin ones with the little rods connecting the centre and grip together, and the horn button was held in by 3 grub screws that were in the steering wheel. People mostly change this to suit their needs (mainly using Moto-lita).
@4000ChacoRoad4 ай бұрын
@@RaggedyAtom Thank you! I thought that the wooden steering wheels might be aftermarket, but I didn't know the brand. The original MGB steering wheel sounds more like the large-diameter thin steering wheel that I had in my 1967 Austin 1100.
