@charliethec10guy6 Thank you Charlie. My 64 GMC K-1500 long bed had the cab replaced before I bought it because a tree severely damaged the original cab. There are several types of GMC VIN tags available. Question is, which is the correct type for a 64 K-1500? Anyone have pictures? Feel free to block or blur your VIN number if you prefer. Thank you everyone...0

@@charliethec10guy6 You will love the sound of your Lunk. Many new comers underpower whistles with undersize air/steam supplies. The whistle must have the same size piping from the air tank/boiler as the whistle inlet is. In your case 1 1/4 inch. Whistles have a more mellow sound on steam than air. I have heard all of mine on steam and air both.

Show the ‘66 handbrake inside the cab please. You didn’t make it clear on the differences. Can you decode the Vin and badges???
@charliethec10guy6
@charliethec10guy6 7 ай бұрын
The hand brake in the cab is the same from 60 to 66 the cables are different on the rear axle 66 has a 3 cable system 65 and 64 have a two brake cable system I hope that answers your question. On the bin tags when I was making that video I wasn't intending on you having a VIN tag I was just simply pointing out the differences between the three years vintage can be swapped major mechanical Parts sometimes cannot be.

I watched a few guys restore a few boxes, you did the nicest restoration. You could have used a million different colors, you picked some nice colors & did a super nice job. Nice vintage custom color combination. Keep doing your thing. You’re doing a wonderful job. I’m doing a few Snap On, Mac, Dalton, Craftsman , & Kennedy top & bottom boxes for my own use. I’m trying to keep the patina on the boxes, I’ll spray them with a clear coat.

Hi; I just stumbled on your channel. It looks to me that you are restoring ZAU. Concerning the air cleaner, are you sure that the bottom half of the air cleaner is off capital ZAU? The pre-cleaner you have in your hand is the correct air cleaner for a capital ZAU. A ZTU or RTU has a different pre cleaner than a ZAU. Sorry I came in so late.

Thanks for sharing the journey rescuing the old girl, It's being quite the adventure like lots of old tractors are. It wouldn't matter painting that alternator black, the purists will smell them 5 counties over, and start commenting before they see them L.O.L . What they took out of that new gear shift boot so they don't last is probably the natural rubber content. We have the same problem up here in Canadian winters with newer rubber work boots and tire tubes splitting. Those made in China cheap tubes won't last much more than 6 months before we get fed up pumping fluid and patching them in winter chore tractors. we buy the expensive brand Michelin or firestone tubes and never have a problem now unless something gets in the tire. Our local tire shop won't even sell those cheap plasticy feeling tubes for tractors now, they've had so much hassle with them after repeat service calls. Take care.
