Did the new gasket work without any rtv? I just replaced everything a few weeks ago and the new gasket is already leaking. I thought it was weird that it was basically just a plastic ring that they call a “gasket” and sure enough it’s not that great. Glad it’s a $3 fix though and easy to get too.

so is the mrev2 plenum just a non revup DE plenum??
@latenightgarage78952 ай бұрын
Yeah basically
@kotymccallister51502 ай бұрын
@latenightgarage7895 so why would anyone spend mrev2 money when they can just get a non revup plenum? I am reading the mrev2 has been slightly modified. I have read the non revup plenum on a revup will slightly lower peak hp but get quite a lot in the midrange. Does the mrev2 get all the midrange whilst retaining the top end? Could I modify the non revup plenum to perform identically to the mrev2? If so, how?
@latenightgarage78952 ай бұрын
Exactly, why spend money on a MRev2. We'll bc you have to buy a plenum still and then have the knowledge to grind it down in the same places the other companies do. It's cheaper if you have the info and tools but quicker just to buy it done.
@kotymccallister51502 ай бұрын
@latenightgarage7895 so I guess my last question is: does the mrev2 lower plenum lower the peak hp on a stock revup? Or is it ported so you get the midrange without losing the top end like you would if you just stuck a stock de plenum on a revup?
@latenightgarage78952 ай бұрын
If that's what you've read, then probably, it's been a while since I've looked this stuff up. Basically, if you add it to your revup, you'll get some better response and low torque, but it's not gonna make a big difference. What I ended up doing was adding the MRev2, 5/16 spacer, kentix upper intake, 75mm tb, and an injine air intake plus the revup tune, now if you add all of that than you notice a difference.

Did you have any other symtoms? I have an Audi A4 AVANT 2.0 TDI 190 hp that has this warning coming up about system fault and it goes into limpmode. After restart the warning is gone and the car acts like it should for about 2 weeks before it throws the warning again. Faultcode P029900 turbo underboost. Audi stated that they found a faulty boost pressure sensor and replaced it but three days after the warning returned....getting sick of this

Could be a clogged catalytic converter, I swapped to ECS Tuning FHC. A while after this video, the code showed up, so I went to a mechanic, and they pointed out that the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter was hotter than it should be. So I swapped out the cat and haven't had the boost code again.

Just not understanding how a loose wastegate got tightened by just heating it up
5 ай бұрын
He didn't show the one thing the whole point of the video was for. He held the wastegate open by its rod, then heated it up and slightly bent the internal arm that holds the waste gate flapper or door. It compensates for the sloppy, worn out arm and rod pivots, and holds wastegate door tighter against opening, preventing boost leak, preventing the under boost dtc code from appearing.
