My very simple questions are following? 1. Why and how the face, attires, body structure, and postures are almost identical to Buddha of Mahavira? The only 3xception is the mound of hairs on Buddha's head, which gets removed from Mahavira's head. 2. How come Mahavira's family background is almost identical to that of Buddha, including the family's residential one? 3. The names of the father and mother of Buddha are mentioned, but it is not the same as Mahavira. Why is only the mother's name of Mahavira spread? Not of the father! 4. Mahavira was 24th as there were 23 earlier Tirthankaras. Fair enough. So, who were they? Their names? Origins? How did the very first "originated"? What made the 1st Mahavira stand up? The century of the very 1st Mahavira. Which century was it? 5. Buddha and Buddhism were the reform socioeconomic movements more than religious against the "Karam Kand" of the Brahmanical order of the time. So, where does Mahavira stand in reference to the Brahmanical social stratification, control, karam kand, and caste system of the Manuvad? 6. How come 90-95% of Jains are from the "Vaishya/Baniya" sect of the Hindus caste hierarchy even today? 7. Buddhism crossed the Brahamputra River on East, reaching until Japan. And Indus River in the West reaching Afghanistan. Why and how come Jainism doctrine never crossed the two rivers on the east and west side of India as well as Tungabhadra in Southern India. 8. How is it the locations having Buddhism foot prints have been usurped by Jainism as one goes deeper into the central Indian rural side giving the gimmick of Buddha's figurine being copied and camaflauged through Mahavira at such locations. I hope the so well-educated speakers here will try to answer my questions listed above for ignorants like me and lakhs of others. Dr. Cameron Ahmad Iqaluit NU Canada

The title is a misnomer. The speaker spoke more broadly about various belief systems in Jainism, not just culture. She spoke well, though.

Hello! I am not from India. Can anyone recommend me some articles, websites on pluralistic Shaiva Siddhanta, especially about Aghorashiva? I am interested in how he understood good and evil in our world. Preferably in English or other languages

Nothing of word hindu buddhist. We sanatan are different. Buddhism is different. Had copied from upnishad ved many more. I have full proofs. Why are you mixing both. It's sheer nonsense. In fact siddharth buddh is 25th buddha not incarnation of lord mahavishnu ji. This land is of Rishi muni Lord Krishna raam...Not of siddharth Buddh.

It is only relevant if Buddhism is considered as something outside of the Dharma family of traditions.

Finally this is being discussed. Excellent analysis but I don't agree with the arguments made here. I can provide refutation for each and every argument made here and furnish more in favour of Advaita or shankara being oracchanna bauddha

@jai6196 I will, thank you

Besides the arguments here, Advaita has a very clear precedent in the Upanishads and even earlier in the Rig Veda, but I'm not sure you're a Hindu, so perhaps you're biased towards Buddhism (read modern day seculars and Navayanis) in the first place. In any case, I'm not sure you're going to find any unique arguments that have not already been considered by Western experts, none of which are convincing from a traditional or objective standpoint, which largely ignore or reject the Upanishads and Vedas as sources of evidence.
@amith0tube5 күн бұрын
@abhijitkurse53 you need to study it first, then compare, then you'll find. Jingoistic chest thumping cannot be considered an intellectual argument worthy of consideration.
@jai61965 күн бұрын
@@amith0tube If Advaita and Buddhism are same, then there is hardly any difference between Sanatan Dharma and Buddhism. Then, why some people say Buddhism is different from Hinduism?

*Yes , 100% copied by Shankara from the madhyamaka philosophy of Arya nagarjuna*
@BramhanaSena17 күн бұрын
Advaitam existed before adi shankara He helped people to stop following insane Jain and Buddhists If he had not come Islam would have spread in India easily because buddists and Jains were sitting ducks
@abhijitkurse535 күн бұрын
Yet the Upanishads predate Madhyamaka by centuries, if not a millennium or more. Indian seculars and Navayanis can hardly be trusted to objectively consider anything when it comes to Hinduism. And why are you using the Sanskrit term "Arya", which was originally used in the Rig Veda? Stick to the Pali-Prakrit of the non-Brahmanical masses and say Ajja or Ayya.
